Greetings.
I want two answers from you, one that is your immediate answer from just reading the title, and the other one a little more thought full.
Heres the deal:
If i buy the nikon D90, i will be putting another hobby on hold (flight sim'ing).
If i buy the rebel, i will be limiting this new hobby, but keep a old hobby going (by purchasing a yoke and some new equipment).
I really like the D90's features, but as a starter photographer it might be all a little overwhelming, it wouldn't be with the 450 (I'm from Norway, i can't help myself going from calling it the rebel and 450 :( )
It will be my first DSLR to own, i got some experience with DSLR's, but not too much.
TL;DR: D90 might be overwhelming, but i like a challenge, but the 450 is for beginners and i will enjoy that aswell.
Thoughts please :)
Fucking rebel do it
I think you should buy the D90! All those features gotta be good for something, and why shouldn't you start with the features, so you don't have to learn them later
Listen to perfumly and deffo go for canon rebel. If your a beginner, i definitely think you should go with a good beginner camera.

not really, you'll have more money left over to buy new lenses
Hmmm, i know jack-shit about lenses though :(
But, does anyone have experience with both?

if you get the d90, youll be able not only have a good start with the easy settings but learn to use the more complex settings as you go without upgrading.

Kit lenses are usually shit. I'd get the rebel and buy some decent telescopic macro lenses.

My dad offered to pay for that, i guess he likes this hobby more than my plan on joining the military and getting my plane licenses there :P
Can anybody tell me a good and cheap lense? (well, the cheaper the better, it doesn't have to be old-man-down-the-street-cheap, but still cheap :) )
I'll check back in the morning :)
I got a Xsi myself, get it. B and H photo has some pretty decent lenses.
rebel rebel rebel
maybe 500D if you want a prosumer camera

more like 50D
It's not really going to matter too much, try them out for yourself, you probably know which one you want already.
You could also get the Rebel T1i, it looks like a really great camera, pretty much a competitor to the d90 but a tad cheaper. But yeah, its all what you wanna do

I kinda want the D90, since it's pretty much superior, but it's very expensive.
But then you lads come and say it's the rebel that is the best.
Ah well, I still got a few weeks to decide :)
Well you could also just get a higher end canon.
I like the EOS 1000D IMO.
Buy the Cannon and a zoom lens. It's annoying if you don't have one.
Well people are gonna be bias towards their own brand. So i'm gonna say nikon.
Fuck nikon I say canon.
i say go nikon, i got a d70s for my first camera and im about to upgrade to a D90, i love the camera and i love how i dont have to search through menus to change my settings and shit. but just remember that what ever one you choose your kinda stuck if you start buying lenses.
Well, to be fair here canon and nikon are both good brands and you'll get nearly the same results with either brand. But I have a canon and love it so that's why I'm saying to go canon of course.
Ah to hell with it, i'll get the nikon, thanks guys, I appreciate it!
But please, go on and discuss your favorites :)
Fuck nikon I say canon.
Fantastic argument.
I say get the Rebel since most people who get DSLR camera's around here don't ever take advantage of them and never take pictures more advanced than a close up of a rusty bolt or a leaf with a bug on it. Better to not invest $1300 on a hobby you might not do anything with.
Used 40d
If you're serious about photography, get the D90. Learning how to use a camera is the easy part. The kit lens it comes with is pretty decent too. Also I think it's a better hobby than flight sims.

Haha, I'm planning on taking my flight sim hobby to the next level though, getting the licenses and doing it professionally(even though it's expensive as hell)
I find Nikon cameras easier to use, but that's my opinion.
