So, i'm a big fan of Elder Scrolls games, but I've played so much of em that I've explored most of the world and there's no real excitement in finding new towns and all that sort of thing. I was curious as to if anyone knows if there's a first person RPG game in the style of Elder Scrolls that features procedural generated random worlds to run around in since it's so hard to keep up with all these early access games popping up on Steam. Preferably one with towns and a big open world.
Is the Witcher 3 something that interests you?

And if you're okay with it, ASCII games. And if you are getting desperate, something on Byond. Some games on there were interesting to me.
It's not first person, but Dwarf Fortress has an Adventurer mode where you take quests, save kingdoms and, optionally, raze the world of all life down to the worms. All worlds, towns and histories and religions are procedurally-generated and there's a setting to keep the world's historical events hidden in the archive until you find an engraving of the event in a dungeon or something.
The problem with procedurally generated worlds is that they don't look as good or have as much depth to them as handmade ones. Have you looked at Evolve on Steam?

And you don't have to have played the first two to understand it (but I'd recommend reading a summary or something if you don't plan on playing the first two). I think Witcher 3 even has user generated content for when you finish the actual game as well.
Elder Scrolls 2, free on the website: http://www.elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/
DaggerfallSetup is a program to easily set up the game with patches and a few mods. http://wiwiki.wiwiland.net/?title=Daggerfall_:_DaggerfallSetup_EN For an open world RPG, it's not procedually generated, but Wizardry 8 is pretty good.
Thanks guys, i'm gonna give Wizardry 8 a shot and try my hand at Daggerfall again, I downloaded daggerfall before but never actually got to the point where I could launch it.
