Hey guys basically I've had to have time off work due to a pretty bad skull injury and was looking to dig my teeth into an MMO but am pretty stuck on what I can actually play/run on this laptop. I'm more of a quest/lore/skill type of person and when it came to PVP in WOW I got rinsed over and over.
Was just wandering if someone could recommend me an mmo?
I have Guild Wars 2 but I don't know if I'll be able to run such a beauty on here and most of the MMO's I use to have a little play on seem out of date like Lord Of the Rings/Aion
Thanks!
I might get blasted in the ass for this but if you like Star Wars, The Old Republic is worth checking out.
The Old Republic is hardly an mmo anymore. It's basically a singleplayer experience at this point.
Try Wakfu maybe.
Old school Runescape
If you don't mind paying a subscription, FFXIV is quite good and seems like the kind of thing you'd like. Lots of lore, rather decent story quest (IMO better plot than every other MMO out there that I've played, but that's just me), easy ways to try out all the jobs and max them on a single character, rather deep crafting, etc.
Warframe's pretty fun if you like an MMOTPS experience and don't mind sci-fi.
It can seem super complex at first, but has a ton of content available for free, and pretty much anything in the game save for some cosmetic items and inventory slots can be crafted.
Marvel Heroes 2016 is pretty straight-forward and fun. It doesn't require days upon days to get your character to max level and most of the stuff can be unlocked without paying any money. Also is free-to-play
Spent quite a bit of time on Black Desert Online during the beta and on first release. It's a beautiful game, even on lower settings. I found questing by myself as much fun as questing with friends, and it didn't feel very grindy.
If your PC can run it, I would say it's a good pick!

Eh, I'd recommend this if it weren't for the forced drop rate for ES (only 1 drop every 8 minutes, unless they changed it recently) and the painful grind for good gear. Still fun though, especially if you like Marvel.
(Personally stopped playing it months because I got bored of the grind though so I don't know if anything significant has changed regarding my concern)
See if Wildstar runs for you, it's pretty good.
Tree of Savior.
Its a new Ragnarok.

I second this.
There is also a trial if you are unsure: http://www.ffxiv-freetrial.com/na/
Thanks for the response guys, wasn't expecting such a thing from FP. Played Old Republic before and completely forgot about it, loved it too bits. But Im going to give FFXIV a shot with the free trial and go from there.
Thanks boys n' girls
Star Trek Online is reasonably fun and has a very fair F2P model. It's only really recommendable if you like Star Trek, though, as it's basically References and In-Jokes: The Game.

It also runs on very low end hardware.
Wildstar's pretty good. It was rough at launch, but it's pulled itself around quite nicely. It went F2P a little while back and the monetization model's very fair. The only real problem with the game is that the population's a little low, but as for the game itself it's a lot of fun. Combat's fun, the PVE content's really well done, and the world's nice.
