Ok the news we feared the most had came true...Nergal of Behemoth have been diagnosed with leukemia. The illness has advanced far enough to the point that chemotherapy would be ineffective against it. ...So I dedicate this thread to him and pray that he gets well soon.We do not want to lose another great musician.Post your well wishes, favourite song or whatever that is best fit for this thread.(views, what you like abt him etc.)
and for those who want to help (copy and paste from a Facebook page):
BEHEMOTH leader Nergal has just found out he needs a marrow transplant to fight the sickness he has recently been diagnosed with (leukemia). In light of this he wants to remind everyone about the need to be on the marrow registry. The more people get tested and donate, the more of a chance for life there is for him and people in the same situation.
BEHEMOTH and Metal Blade would like to thank everyone for their support and well wishes during this difficult time. The best thing we can all do right now is learn about the marrow donation process, not only help save one of metal's leaders, but to also help save countless others out there struggling with the same disease.
To learn more about how you can register to donate marrow check out:

Oh shit, I knew he was very ill, but I didn't think it would be so bad as Leukemia :saddowns:
Hope he gets better. Why is it always the cool guys and not the douches that get all the bad shit happen to them? Dio, Chuck, and now Nergal (not saying he's going to die, I really hope he doesn't. But you get my point.)
Yeah, I found out today.
Nergal can't die. He'll be okay, I just know it.
Behemoth partially got me in to liking death/black metal.
Wow this is terrible! He is such a great musician and puts so much work and time into his music, he doesn't deserve to struggle with such an illness.
This was the first but hopefully not the last time I've seen him play:

(the video ain't mine)
Despite not being a Behemoth fan I still wish him good luck and my best wishes.
Heard about this, yeah. I really hope he gets better.
2010 is a HORRIBLE year for metal musicians.
Best of luck to him.

I really love Nergal's old black metal vocals, they're like a blend of Neige and Varg Vikernes. Amazing. His growls are very good too, incredibly powerful.

if you want to be a part of this, please send her a msg via fb , she's sending it all to Nergal to Poland on monday
btw his fiancee isnt donating marrow there is a very small chance she has a matching marrow. in poland there are only 40 000 donors . so it's very hard to find a fitting one. there are more people who register now, hopefully they will find it. she's still doing concerts etc so it is not that bad i guess

what is what?
What the the hell? How come I've not heard of this. I was supposed to see Behemoth a couple weeks ago, but they cancelled. :(
Update:The Initial reports that chemotherapy would be ineffective against it turns out to be false.Orion(the bassist of Behemoth)spoke with Focus on Metal and he has this to say
"[Nergal] remains in the hospital. He's going through chemotherapy now. And they're planning a bone-marrow transplant, possibly this year. He's doing fine. His attitude is just winning everything. He's with fighting the illness and we're all sure that he's going to be fine."
Darski is currently receiving treatment in the hematology division of Gdansk Medical University Hospital in Poland and has already undergone his first round of chemotherapy and other procedures while waiting for a donor with complementary bone marrow.
Orion also said "Well, he's [been] in great spirits since the very beginning of this whole situation. His attitude is... well, just positive. The way he's behaving is like he had a flu; it just takes a little longer to heal. So he's still in the hospital. He's undergoing chemotherapy and it's gonan take another few months for all these chemos. Then there is a bone-marrow transplant possible either at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year, but we still don't have a donor for him. So we're still encouraging people to register in all these bone-marrow banks. But he's doing great. We're all 100 percent sure that he's gonna go through it stronger than ever. All I can do is just cross fingers. And we're still in touch. He's not, like, separated from the people; we see each other, we talk on the phone, he's all the time working and sitting in front of the computer. So he's doing what he was always doing besides being on tour. So he's working with the band and his attitude is great and he's in good spirits." (in a seperate Interview...I not sure where most likely BLABBERMOUTH)
If you are a die-hard fan...check out their upcoming three-disc DVD titled Evangelika Heretika coming out this November. That is all :downs:

I was about to rate you dumb until I scrolled down. I've still half a mind for even saying such a thing in jest.
I mean, I may not be a fan of Behemoth by any means, but this isn't stuff you joke around about at all - especially when it's actually happening.
It's heartwarming to hear that so far it's all going so well, and that he has such a positive attitude about it. Nergal.
oh oh forget to add the trailer to the DVD.

Major Bump to this Thread but just wanted to inform you guys about Nergal having found a donor.I just gonna quote from metalunderground.
"Hello. Still from my hospital bed, but really in pretty good shape I am writing to inform you about my health and the further stages of treatment.
"At the moment I am on the fourth and final chemistry and more than 3 month stay in hospital. All the treatments went like a storm though not without some serious "holes". Thus, I close this stage of medications and will soon begin radiation, and then, waiting for my bone marrow.
"Yes, yes, we have a donor !:-)))
"After months of searching, the foundation has found the person whose genotype is identical with mine. It would be difficult to achieve if they did not support a large number of people.
"First of all, I must express my great admiration for my wonderful and devoted fiancee, Dorothy. Despite the adversity, the public comments, often small and pitiful, became the head to help me and many others. Your help is appreciated. Thank you and I love you.
"On behalf of myself and all the patients, I would like to thank everyone who signed up for the bone bank, regardless of place of origin, color or creed. All over the world took the charity concerts, people from industry, bands and fans primarily involved in the action with total dedication. You're great! Thanks to one of you can be my transplant but remember that your attitude can save many others in need therefore appeal: do not stop! March continues to victory! Horns Up!" (translated from Polish)
I don't like Behemoth, but I'm glad he's going to live
