Last year, the PC tournaments involved at the BSG Fall LAN were Starcraft II, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike: Source, and America's Army. As mentioned, there are consoles that you can play for the duration of the LAN (If you do not have a proper gaming PC) as well as console tournaments. Their goal this year is to gather a total of 200+ attendees, last year they barely met their goal of 150 attendees, people whom stayed the entire LAN, and people whom only stayed for certain tourneys. Some important notes from past experienced LANs, - No drugs, alcohol, or smoking inside the building. - No foul language (This rule is broken every year by everyone, I don't think they honestly care about language as long as there isn't any discrimination going around). - You can bring sleeping bags, pillows, and even small cots if you wish, last year there was a separate room were attendees could sleep, but people usually passed out on their pillows under the tables. - This is a BYOB, which means bring your own box, although you are not limited to PC gaming, you can come without a computer of any kind and just play the consoles (Xbox, N64, PS3, Wii). - Attendees are allowed to leave the building anytime they wish, though in order to come back you must have your name tag. - Outside food & drinks are allowed, as long as no alcohol/drugs are involved. - Speakers are not allowed. - Widely being a douchebag will get you thrown out. - You are not limited to tournament games, you can play anything you want. - No torrents/pirating. - You can only pay at-door price during the first night, if you're planning on coming later, you must be pre-registered. - There will be prizes ranging from tournament prizes to raffle prizes. - Last year, people who pre-registered were entered into a raffle to win a 320 iOmega external hard drive (Not sure if that is happening again this year). - Cameras are allowed. - There will be a table where you can purchase drinks like Bawls, Monster, Water, and Red Bull, they offered free coffee last year. Water is $1, as energy drinks are usually $2. (Bring some gatorade or powerade, drinking energy drinks for three days dehydrates you a fuck-ton, there is a vending machine down the hall from the gym we will be in, you can purchase vitamin water there). - Meals will be supplied, Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, this is all free with your registration. - Age limit is 16+ We want to try and gather up some Facepunchers from around the Michigan area and set up some Facepunch rows, last year we only had around three Facepunchers join us (Olas, Aezir, Grea$emonkey). The Fall one was great, this one should be even better. Also, as you can sort-of see in the photo, Mactards were present. Edit: My contribution: Edit: The swag I walked away with (Besides all the sponsor lanyards, keychains, stickers, pens, free energy drinks, etc) was the registration raffle (Iomega 320gb external drive), a huge awesome Portal mousepad, and a $25 giftcard to an electronics website.
I'll be there. I also remember taking some of those pictures. :buddy:
I would like to note that if anyone has any other questions or issues, my brother helps operate these LAN parties, so I can talk to him if a question cannot be answered.
Why must ever decent convention be at the Arse end of England or in another country :saddowns:
I think I might actually go to this one. Didn't go to the last but I heard it was pretty awesome.
Last one was a blast. It's definitely worth it.
I wish I was still living in the East Coast.
I wish we had events like this around here, I hate rednecks :saddowns:
Fuck, only way I can go is if I take my 13 year old cousin, if hes not allowed I won't be able to go, can't wait to leave high school this shit is always ruined by some stupid whiny ass third-cousin, or my step-uncle who beats my aunt, yet I must help the barely related douchebag side of the family :smith:
I can't go but if I did I'd take a haz-mat suit just to be safe. [editline].[/editline] Although when I'm older I might consider finding one closer to me. Looks fun.

I sort of want to come but then I'm reminded of the fact that I'm absolutely horrible at videogames
I sort of want to come but then I'm reminded of the fact that I'm absolutely horrible at videogames
You don't need to be good to have a good time. Just a pro tip, last year we competed in the CSS tourney, ended up going up against the number 1 ranked team in Michigan, they wrecked everyone at the LAN, didn't even lose a single round. We were terribly disappointed, but we had a great time anyways. A reminder, even if you don't win at a tournament, there still are raffle prizes.
It's worth the very inexpensive registration for the raffle prizes and the free food, and the fun atmosphere.
I'm gonna try and go, and possibly my other friend will come to.
Oh wow, I didn't know things happened in Michigan. Looks like it's quite a drive, I'm in Livonia. :v:
I might go to this one, will depend on a few things though.
I sort of want to come but then I'm reminded of the fact that I'm absolutely horrible at videogames
I suck at competitive games too, don't worry. I spent most of my time dicking around in local free-frag servers and even hosted a local GMod server for people to play with some scripts I never released (like my Death Note SWEP and my Antion Survival gamemode alpha).
Okay guys. So now I'm somewhat situated in MI again. I have a couple friends currently living in Mt. Pleasant that might be wanting to go to this. If not, I'll have a place to crash for the weekend if I get tired during the LAN party. Plus my girlfriend lives in Mt. P too. Quite possibly going to this one.

League of Legends tourney confirmed from inside sources. :ninja:
im in ludington, id reallly like to attend this ill bring my crappy single core desktop down :D
A friend and I are driving down together, but he has no computer so I'll have room in my car for anyone who wants to carpool. I'm at the tip of the mitt (Harbor Springs / Petoskey), so a lot of cities would be on my way. If anyone wants to take up my back seat just give me a holler. It's a '97 Ford Taurus so there's a good bit of room for one other person who wants to bring their rig and a small duffel-bag of stuff. It'd also be nice to have some gas money for the drive. :buddy:
Grea$e I might take you up on that offer, hmm would I get in trouble for smoking weed in my car and coming back inside high as fuck?
Grea$e I might take you up on that offer
Well, Ludington is quite a bit out of the way. Would probably add an extra hour onto the drive.
hmm would I get in trouble for smoking weed in my car and coming back inside high as fuck?
We should hang out.
We should hang out.
Oh you
What city are you in? We should hang out.
Two posts above you big guy, ludington, mid way right on the coast of lake michigan. I'm so lucky to live on a lake with jetskiis :3
