Fuck. I guess we'll never find out who the D is.
I fucking love his odd ridiculous games, they're so uniquely charming. He will be missed
Nipponese says he retired 2 months ago. Huh.
he had medical problems that really shut him down creatively for a bit (hypoglycemia, rumor has it thats how the D4 Hunger System was made) so i wonder if its just him taking a break more or hes moving onto a different bigger company that can get him a budget
I love his style, it's a shame his games don't sell so well.
D4 was comedic gold. I'm sad he was forced to step down.
Fuck. I guess we'll never find out who the D is.
You did tho
I really hope he'll get back at it someday. Deadly Premonition is one of the few games that I actually bothered to 100% everything and replayed multiple times in recent years. Don't often come across a creator like Swery65. Do wish the best of health and luck to him though. I'm just also even more upset that D4 will be stuck on a cliffhanger and we will never get to experience any of his brilliant characters again anytime soon.
D4 was one of my favorite games. It was full of personality and charm I truly hope that one day he comes back and finishes it
You did tho
But was that D the D? The ending to ep 2 felt too much like a fever dream for me to recall it in full.
Never played Deadly Premonition (nor do I know much of what it is) but I remember Spy Fiction very well. Was a p fun game for what it was at the time. Worth it for the dialogue alone:
we need more weird like swery
i hope someone lets him make this game
GC: Are you ever intending to return to Deadly Premonition with a new game, and if not what else are you working on at the moment? HS: Deadly Premonition is always on my mind. But I have no idea what form it’ll take, when it’ll appear, who I’ll work on it with, or how I’ll present it. The only answers are in the coffee. Aside from that, I’m also working on a story about a high school girl detective who uses the imagination (fantasising) energy from masturbating to help her solve murders. But all the publishers keep telling me ‘There’s no way we could put out such a perverted game!’ LOL! I wish someone would let me make it.
Oh man. I was really hoping for another season of D4. [editline]31st October 2016[/editline] Shit, I don't care if it's animated instead of a game, I just want more.
Swery65 was vital in the creation of Deadly Premonition, my favorite game, I follow him closely and was really upset when he made the announcement on Twitter. I've noticed his English isn't perfect so I'm crossing my fingers that by retire he didn't mean forever.
I do wonder if he has any protégés to continue his work following his visions/ using his stash of top-shelf drugs. Despite not actually being able to finish Deadly Premonition (holy shit the performance on the PS3 version is bad, even the "improved" version) I could appreciate the quirky absurdity that permeated the entire game.
i want to finish deadly prem, but the PC port is so fucking terrible. i had to run the game in win 98 compatibility mode, then i got to a certain level that made it impossible to aim the gun at all in every mode.
i hope someone lets him make this game
last i heard devolver digital was interested and talked to him at a e3 about it but its the last i heard when i asked him on twitter bout it he just liked the tweet and nothin else
i never thought i'd hear about spy fiction again, that was a really fun game when it came out. really satisfied the same itch i get from games like hitman.
