Hey, I'm looking to get a cheap rig set up that is capable of running "Light" games on it (my main plan is to play World of Warcraft on it).
I only have around £400 to spend on it but I only need the computer and no peripherals/os.
I was looking at:

But I am mildly lost when it comes to Graphics cards/PSUs/cases..
Any chance you can help me out with the rest of it?
Also I would like a wireless card in it as my bedroom is too far away from the router to use cabling.
You can pick up cheap USB dongles, they do the trick when it comes to wireless.
After having a bit more of a look around I came up with:

Now I want to make sure, is that all compatible with each other?
Also is that Graphics card okay? I'm not very Graphics card literate but from what I understand it should do the job I want.
Give me a second and I'll come up with a solid build within your budget.

This was my best attempt at creating a build to fit your budget. Went a bit lower on the psu wattage, but quality-wise, it should last you a couple of builds/upgraded parts.
Hmm, I thought AMD CPUs were best for a cheap build.
That build does look pretty solid though so thanks man.

AMD does do better once you fall further below your budget range, but it wasn't too hard to squeak in an i3.

400-500 USD is the breakpoint for most builds, and USD are worth less.
aahhh chris my old friend, has come to the build section :P its all about intel these days as im sure you have come to tell. also, i have some Corsair vengance Ram DDR3 1600mhz you can use if your stuck :)
Jah righ. I think the build Evilan posted is pretty good I'm gonna get that, the down side is I'm not sure how long it will be till I get the money for it and some of the components are nearly out of stock.
I hope they will be in stock when it comes around to buying time.
Hell, if that Vengeance is dual channeled (2x4GB) I'd use it in the build.

I have a question about this motherboard and cpu.
http://www.ebuyer.com/254976-intel-core-i3-2100-3-10ghz-socket-1155-3mb-l3-cache-retail-boxed-bx80623i32100

The cpu says it has integrated HD graphics, does that motherboard support this?
I'm asking because money is a lil tight and if I can get away without buying the GPU right away and using the integrated graphics I can save up and get a decent GPU.
Anyone know if this works?
yes it can
It can use integrated, but you will have to play WoW on low/medium depending on your resolution to get 30+ fps. If you can get together another £25 then the 7770 is a very well performing card for its price.
but the 5770/6770 are cheaper and just as good
No they're not, the 7770 is on par with the 6850 while the 7750 is either a small amount better or worse than the 6770, I can't remember which.
Even then, the 7770 would only be about £20 more expensive than a 6770 while being a generation ahead and better performing.

Ah good, I'm stuck playing wow on a really bad laptop atm that plays it at like 15 fps on low so 30 would be bearable for a week or 2 while I get the money together for the gpu.
What resolution is your monitor?
What resolution is your monitor?
It's a common 4:3 crap monitor, so it's like 1024 x 700 or something around that.
I intend getting a better one once I have compiled all the hardware for the actual computer.
You'll be fine on the HD2000 in that case
Thank you all for you help, the parts came today and the build is running smoothly.
The next step is to get a new monitor. I was looking at the ones on ebuyer and they seem fairly cheap but I though I would ask you guys first, is there any where in particular that sells cheap monitors in the UK?

I don't know of one specifically but if you know of a local "Cash Generator" then they have cheap PC monitors, they also sell pre-built PC's that are occasionally good and always low price, thought I don't really recommend that unless you find a good one.
