Ron Paul has some surprising news for the Tea Party: You’re being taken for a ride.
At least this is what many libertarians like Ron Paul believe when they see someone like Glenn Beck or Sarah Palin trying to lead the Tea Party at the “restoring honor” rally this weekend. In fact, Ron Paul believes, if you’re looking for real freedom, you should really go back to the core of the constitution and the bill of rights, which Beck and Palin do not fully endorse when you really look at their beliefs. Whether it be Palin’s support for starting more wars or Beck’s beliefs on paying the private Federal Reserve MORE interest on our money by means of a VAT tax.
Ron Paul believes in neither of the above.
Here was Ron Paul’s message to the Tea Party via The New York Times just the other day:
“As many frustrated Americans who have joined the Tea Party realize, we cannot stand against big government at home while supporting it abroad. We cannot talk about fiscal responsibility while spending trillions on occupying and bullying the rest of the world. We cannot talk about the budget deficit and spiraling domestic spending without looking at the costs of maintaining an American empire of more than 700 military bases in more than 120 foreign countries. We cannot pat ourselves on the back for cutting a few thousand dollars from a nature preserve or an inner-city swimming pool at home while turning a blind eye to a Pentagon budget that nearly equals those of the rest of the world combined.”
While the Tea Party will be out supporting Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin this weekend, you wonder how many of them will be in full support of more wars and paying more interest to a group of untouchable and unauditable private bankers otherwise known as the FED? This is precisely what Ron Paul is asking the American public to consider when looking at the Tea Party leaders and see if they really stand for what they believe in.
Ron Paul believes the Tea Party is not about “left” or “right” like a lot of political pundits make it out to be. It’s about the constitution, and limited government.
Although I'm no Ron Paul supporter he makes some really good points.
The majority of Ron Paul's opinions are decent and logical, its just a few are so wildly insane they counter balance the good ones.
ron paul 2012 baby usa #1
Ron Paul is okay however his idea that civil rights should be left up to the states is insane.
I'm not a fan of any of the candidates really. Ron seems to be better than most though and his insane ideas are things that he could never do while his logical ones are things that could actually happen.
He doesn't really seem to have a sound economic plan though but then again neither did Obama.
Ok he's still not going to win the primary.
Ron Paul I dislike mainly for the anti-American lunatics who avidly support him. When you hear someone say that they'd like to beat a police officer's head against a wall until it explodes (and then eat the remains), and then in the next sentence say they're voting for Ron Paul it kind of sends a bad message about him. That, the drug policy, and what he said about Fort Knox ("Sell it") just kind of make me think we should deport instead of elect him. [sp]I seriously wish I was kidding about this[/sp]
A few of the policies that this man says are crazy, but many of them are really good.

Uh, Ron Paul, those are right values in the US political spectrum.

Other than decriminalizing drug possession and getting out of wars, what policies of his would you say are "really good"?

Well then that and leaving civil rights up to the states....
PFFFFFTHAHAHAHAHA

You just listed them all.
You just listed them all.
Not a reason to support him given our current economic problems. His economic policies are very awful if you like social services and reasonable market regulation.

Just move to the state which supports those things!
Just move to the state which supports those things!
And if you can't? Well you're fucked.
And if you can't? Well you're fucked.
Then it's because you are lazy!
And probably a communist!

And that is why I would never vote Ron Paul. As well as the fact that I live in Canada.
Good points, but that doesn't make up for the fact that he wants to ban anal sex and gay rights.
Ron Pauls a weird one. He says some things that make complete sense. Like weed legalization and having the troops come home and he even backs them up but at the same time he has some extremely weird beliefs too. Its almost as if this election Obama payed the ad funding for all the crazies just so he would be a shoe in to win.

Yeah, I mean don't get me wrong, I like drug decriminalization and I can get along with an anti-war guy. Only problem is I find all his other policies entirely unconscionable.
Again, giving states the ability to choose....
He shouldn't even be considered if he has that kind of mentality.
WHY ARE WE TRYING TO MAKE HIM LOOK GOOD?!

Giving the states the ability to give and take away rights is a horrible idea.

Because he's the only republican candidate that wants to end these idiotic wars we have going on, and legalize drugs. Problem is, he can't keep his religion and political views separate, and thats why he shouldn't be voted in.

By this standard, none of the candidates should be elected.
Even Obama has some opinions based on a dumb system of morality.
Ron Paul would be a good vice president. You got to admit that. He has been in politics a long time.
Giving the states the ability to give and take away rights is a horrible idea.
Especially the southern and south west states where discrimination and racism is common.

thats why I dont vote. Nobody in the past decade has been worth electing.

I'm not sure if I can say it's religious, I don't know from where he picked it up, but he refuses to even consider legalizing marijuana regardless of profit, and recently the administration starting cracking down on medical marijuana in states where it's legal.
Being a victimless crime, it's based on morals of some kind.

Drug abuse is like suicide in that the victim is the criminal.
