Square Enix has confirmed to GameSpot that the upcoming Director's Cut for Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC alongside the previously announced Wii U version.
No additional information was given, nor did Square Enix confirm whether the Director's Cut would be released separately as DLC for current owners of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Wow, okay.
AYAYAYYAYAYYAYAYAYAYYAYAYAYAYA BABY!
Never got myself to play a second playthrough of this game, because of the boss fights and the annoying battery mechanics.
now... will it be a paid DLC or a free update for those who already bought the game?
From the sound of it not everything is carrying over to the other systems since some of it relies on the tablet and such.
GOOD.
Now announce PC and Console versions for "The Fall" series and everything will be alright.

That makes sense though, im sure we can live without a few extra augmentations that require some sort of tablet.
It better be free, I don't want to have to pay more money for an update.
I hope it's free for those who already have the game, I'd love to replay this and finally be able to do proper nonlethal.
Well, I already have the original version on Steam so hopefully it patches onto that somehow.
I was sorta hoping for it to stay Wii U exclusive way back when because the system needed more incentives for people to really buy it, but I don't really mind, especially not now. Wii U's got a lot of cool stuff coming up now that I think it'll be okay.

Yeah, while I was excited for the Wii U specific upgrades for the game it was dumb they left out the much needed fixes for everyone else.
From what I'm reading elsewhere and hearing from friends at the show the Wii U is getting graphical improvements to match/surpass the PC version, one or two augmentations tied to the tablet, and the ability to drop items in placed for friends to find/use along with the ability to leave voice messages.

Same here; currently I'm on a nonlethal Give Me Deus Ex run and I'm stuck on that Russian chick with the cloak and armour. Arena feels more open than the one I fought Barrett in, but it's still pretty hard to take her down. If the Director's Cut overhauls the boss battles so you can truly do them nonlethally, or even avoid them altogether, then I'll have less grief over the boss battles, 'cause I really do like this game but the boss battles are a big ruddy roadblock for my current playthrough.
Wouldn't put it past them to have owners of the original game have to buy it as DLC, since let's be frank guys; this is Squenix we're talking about, and I don't wanna sound mean or anything, but some Japanese companies tend to be a bit stubborn in some regards. Not to mention we're dealing with capitalists, so one should always expect the worst, even when hoping for the best like that guy from Alphaville. And like one guy said in the comments of the article, "Dude this is Squenix, not CD Project".
As long as the new boss battles and improved lighting is in there, I'm happy. Oh yeah and the entire Montreal hub.
Personally the boss battles and nonlethal combat is all I care about.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution: "PLEASE STOP YELLING AT US FOR THE FALL" Edition
I definitely asked for this
If people who already have the game could get it as a free update or at the very least a paid one it would be perfect.
Shame they never took the opportunity to add Upper Hengsha and Montreal back into the game after they had to cut them.
With the time they're taking to make the Wii U version you think they would have done that.

It doesn't has the Montreal hub I think.
Glad this is being released on the other platforms.
Well that's depressing.

I just ran around constantly firing a heavy machine gun and throwing grenades everywhere until one of us died.
If we do have to buy it, I hope that there's enough improvements to make it not seem like a rip-off.
Too little too late unless they give it to all current owners.
Well considering other games in the past that have gotten these Director's Cut versions, this one really doesn't have anything special.
It just integrates the Missing Link DLC into the main campaign, revises the boss battles, fixes the shitty AI, and adds in better effects for the graphics.
As far as actual content in the game goes this really doesn't add anything new.
If you already have the Missing Link and they don't give this to people who already have the game as an update or cheap DLC, just skip over it.
Integrating dlc into the campagin? Something that should have been done at first. Unshittifying boss battles? Should have been done before launch. Better AI? Should have been patched in. etc.
So what are the differences between regular HR and HRDC? I have not payed much attention to it due to them saying before no PC version.

I think the graphics improvement is only for the Wii U. They said its best looking if the console versions and rivals/surpassed the PC version.
Okay guys, you can stop crying about it now.
Now I feel kinda silly for grabbing the DLC during a sale not too long ago. Oh well.
Never got myself to play a second playthrough of this game, because of the boss fights and the annoying battery mechanics.
I kept hoarding chocolate bars just in case I wanted to cloak through a section. When I realized what I was doing, I did feel pretty silly.
Certainly didn't seem worth upgrading the batteries if only one of them recharges.
Never got myself to play a second playthrough of this game, because of the boss fights and the annoying battery mechanics.
what's wrong with the boss fights?
what's wrong with the boss fights?
They're pretty unbalanced and really force you to use one style of play then complement all the other styles that can be used.
Lethal vs non-lethal come in to mind, very unbalanced.
what's wrong with the boss fights?
The bosses are just bullet sponges, in deus ex 1 there really weren't bosses, everybody (even the main baddies) died the same way. And also because there is only one way to kill the bosses and they are a pain in the ass for more stealth oriented characters.
what's wrong with the boss fights?
They're all a bitch if you don't have armour and aren't carrying a bunch of guns, and stealth is impossible.
what's wrong with the boss fights?
Try doing the boss fights when fully ghost specced(no combat, only stuff to help you not be seen/avoid enemies)
