It was awesome.

And you can load porn in just under 24 hours.

No it wasn't.

Loading google in 5 minutes always gave me something to look forward to.
No. Fiberglass is clearly superior, even standardized digital lines are far better than Dial Up will ever hope to be.

But to be honest, it was a really nice sound indeed.
I think the sound is wonderful, the sound of 20th century technology communicating over a 19th century network.
Umm, with the promise of photon-connections and even the todays fast connections, I gotta go with no.
It's the sound of the devil ;o;
The only merit of dial-up is the nostalgia noise.
If ever there was a self-sufficient society of robots, that is what their music would sound like. Or their mating calls.
Yeah it's almost as if it was shooting people with lasers to get you connected to your 5 kB/s which you then gladly accepted and used proudly and patiently to download the porn.
Nah ill take cable or fiber optics instead, don't feel like having to wait 5 minutes to load a page.
Nope, it took a day to download ARMA 2 and Operation Arrowhead alone on a 2.5 mb broadband connection, imagine it on dial up and thats not considering that someone may want to use the phone.
Porn in just under 24 hours... sounds faster than my current "high speed" internet :v:
Why did it make such a ear-hurting noise, it used to kill me having to connect to the internet with that noise happening over and over with speakers on.
I love the sound, but other than that dial-up is vastly inferior to current connections. I see no reason for desire to go back to such garbage
The video in the OP made my day though
No. As neat as the infrastructure was, I can't imagine the phone bill.
