Well, at least this time it wasn't crack. Toronto Mayor Rob Ford drunk off his ass in public again.
Rob Ford is being forced to defend himself once more after someone leaked video footage of him walking around the city Friday night looking, well, quite tipsy.
A local college student, said he saw Ford standing next to his Cadillac Escalade near the annual "Taste of the Danforth" festival Friday night, telling local alt weekly, Now, "When I approached, he wasn’t making much sense, the mayor looked like he was totally out of it," adding, "he was slurring. It was noticeable. When he would stop to take pictures, he would sway back and forth, he couldn’t really stand straight."
Unlike other Rob Ford incidences, this one comes with readily available pictures and videos.
He says he got a ride home, at least. Also, bonus mention that the Globe and Mail reported on a surprise visit the Mayor took to a Toronto jail in March where he first attempted to get an immediate after-hours tour of the facility. When that was denied, he requested to specifically meet with Bruno Bellissimo, a man with a history of drug charges, and that was also denied. Reminder: The Gawker "Rob Ford smokes crack" episode happened two months later, in May.
Come on, he was having fun on a Friday.

I wouldn't ordinarily fault someone for being a bit drunk on a festival Friday night, but Rob has an unfortunate history with substance abuse and public disorderliness. I mean, nobody's making allegations of sexual harrassment this time, so it's not a hard-hitting exposé that's going to cripple his career...especially since apparently nothing else can get him kicked out either. But he's not helping his image any.
Care to comment on his unusual prison visit in March?
this guy can literally not step outside with someone growing concerns with him
like holy fuck give the fat guy a break
also, why did the crack video and all the news surrounding it just suddenly drop?
there was a raid on the apartment and it just literally dropped, didn't hear jack shit about it afterward

I don't think you quite understand who Rob Ford is. He's had multiple cases of drunken disorderliness in public. He was busted for DUI in Florida and had a joint in his pocket...something he flatly lied about later before being confronted with the evidence and admitting the truth. His brother Doug (who is or at least was a councillor for the city) was allegedly a major Toronto-area drug dealer in the 80s, and his sister has documented ties to white supremacists. He also vetoed an investigation into his own alleged misconduct in office and somehow managed to get away with this conflict of interest.
Regarding the crack story, it petered out...sort of. No big juicy revelations meant public interest fell off, and Rob was surely doing his best to make the story go away as fast as possible. Gawker also couldn't get in touch with the video/iPhone owner again, so they donated the money to charity as promised.
However, it's not over, because the story of what the Mayor's office knew and didn't know, and what it did and didn't do, is still being teased apart. FOIA requests are pending, and a FOIA-type request for intelligence info has been filed and granted, and the government has until around the end of the month to hand things over to the judge.

Oh, I bet this would be a good reason why Gawker never heard back from them.
... about a month after the video story emerged, there were a number of raids by police looking for guns and drugs in the same Dixon Rd. apartment complex linked to the video. One of the men arrested, Mohamed Siad, was the man who showed the reporters the cellphone video in May.
Apparently this Mohamed Siad guy isn't the nicest guy. However, now the question is, why was Rob Ford involved with these guys? Rob has yet to explain the context of this photo.
Ok, I'm not sure what to make of Ford anymore.
Still better then when we had David Miller.

He's our goofy drunk, crack smoking mayor
Sounds like mission out of GTA.

Greater Toronto Area? :v:
(That's what the acronym means in the context of the region immediately around Toronto, for anyone missing the pun.)
Every time he's in public he's got everyone preying on him like vultures. He's doing his job and he's still got the popular vote despite everything that's happened against him. And that's what's so cool about this guy is that he's still brazen enough to go out and do shit like this. People like OP just feed this dudes publicity. All the power to him, Imo.
