Seems kinda pointless.
Yeah, tell me about it. This is how fucking stupid he is.
"I think it is completely fair that for the safety of this country we embed microphones into the skin of every citizen and listen to their conversations, it's only fair." I mean Jesus Christ, this is the same thing as banning instant messaging services that encrypt their data.
And this totally won't lead one step closer to a totalitarian state down the line.
And I thought our politicians were fucking stupid in America.
Because banning things has always worked so well and people won't find alternatives the next day it's out.
banning of encrypted messaging services will lead to the ban of whatsapp, facebook messenger, imessage and many more. good luck getting these corporations to comply with you dave
honestly dont think this would pass in parliament. all it would take is the opposition parties to vote against it which they all will (a couple labour MP's may vote in favour) and then a few rebel conservatives. even then, i doubt it'd pass in the house of lord but that would only delay it for a bit
Fuck off Cameron, with your face like a clearance-priced cured ham.
i think they will have a hard time stopping people from using it. the piracy blocks were utter useless as using google dns completely bypassed everything. i don't really think they can do anything
If you ban encryption, you fuck over a lot of companies and a lot of users, if you logged in to Facebook or something on a public network and they were required to provide an unencrypted site, anyone on the network can just steal passwords.
"Also, we're going to sew everyone's mouths shut. In case they're terrorists. So they can't communicate. I am smart."
that's hilarious. oh well the one third of your electorate who voted for him can enjoy this
As we all know, Islamic extremists breath air - so for the protection of our dear state and people, we are planning to outlaw breathing to protect the British Values we hold dear.
Data has shown that potential terrorists are drinking our tea. Therefore, tea will be made available only to members of the British royal family.
Somehow it never ceases to amaze me how much more involved/angry people get once they hear what actual little things in their day-to-day will suffer from certain laws or agendas, as opposed to the bigger and more abstract dangers they pose. Not that it doesn't make sense, it does, the juxtaposition's just weirdly interesting to me every time it happens. Like when John Olliver pulled the dick pic law thing on Snowden.

Don't worry everyone, there's only about 1800 days until the next election.
Don't worry everyone, there's only about 1800 days until the next election.
yes because old people out of touch with technology wearing red ties are a million times better than old people out of touch with technology wearing blue ties [editline]11th July 2015[/editline] it won't pass, not all MP's are stupid and big tech companies will not be willing to drop encryption
"Also, we're going to sew everyone's mouths shut. In case they're terrorists. So they can't communicate. I am smart."
Better cut everyones hands and feet off because they might use sign language or tap out morse code.
yes because old people out of touch with technology wearing red ties are a million times better than old people out of touch with technology wearing blue ties
The ones in red ties wouldn't do this. Yellow-tied Nick Clegg actually blocked the snooper's charter years ago.
Better cut everyones hands and feet off because they might use sign language or tap out morse code.
New surveys have shown that terrorists are using electricity to communicate their evil terrorist plans. Therefore, electricity is now outlawed in Britain.

Impeach the fucking cunts!
The ones in red ties wouldn't do this. Yellow-tied Nick Clegg actually blocked the snooper's charter years ago.
then the current 232 labour MP's won't allow it to pass, job done
If you already have this on your phone though, how would access to it be stopped?
How long before we see people arrested for speaking in code (only to be released when it is established that they are merely Cockneys)?
I don't see how this can pass, all it would take is for one of these services to do a Wikipedia-style blackout for a day and it would be dead Anyway the draft bill will be published in the autumn so we can see what the actual details of the plan are and go from there
Oh piss off David.
