I've already tried googling it, but no good.
OK, so I downloaded this movie, Brazil, and I really like it, and I'm leaving where I live soon. So I want to put it on my iPod. Unfortunately, these "progressive" machines really suck and so it won't let me! I even figured out a way to make the film into an MP4, and my iPod still won't allow it!
So how do I get movies to be allowed onto my iPod? I guess that's all I'm asking. Thanks.

For all you know he could have bought it online. Don't jump to conclusions, help him.
Some movie formats are not supported by itunes, I believe. But generally you should just be able to drop it over the video's tab of itunes, and then under your IPOD's settings on itunes, select the movies tab, and sync the video by checking it off and hit sync.

Douche.
OP, during the process of syncing it to your iPod, what goes wrong? Any errors or messages? Is the movie imported into iTunes?
What type of Ipod?
and if you put it into itunes, there is an option in one of the menues that says "convert to Ipod playable" or summin, according to my friend
Actually it doesn't even transfer onto iTunes. I thought that iTunes only accepted MP4s, so I made it an MP4. It still won't go into iTunes.:\
Convert it to MPEG-4.

MPEG-4 and mp4 are slightly different. My iTunes didn't accept mp4 but mpeg-4 format works just fine.
As for the OP i don't know what program you use, but 3GP video converter 3 works well for me.
Handbrake has an automatic conversion to an iPod format. Maybe you should check it out:

Very carefully. Or use a program like WinFF [ http://winff.org/html_new/ ] to put it into the iTunes format.
