I'm looking for one, as rtorrent doesn't want to work. I've been looking at bitflu. Some recommendations would be appreciated.
Transmission is the best one out there, and is pretty light as well.

wait, since you mentioned both rtorrent and bitflu, is it just cli clients you're looking for or no?
I'd prefer the lightest cli client I can get.
rtorrent seems like the one, but it isn't working the way I want it to, and the documentation sucks.
I think transmission can be cli, though.
I'm testing out bitflu now.
afterwards I think I'll try transmission.
the cli screenshots on their site look nice.
Some people use Ktorrent

transmission-cli is great. Works with torrentflux as a front end as well.

Ktorrent is more than enough for me, have you tried it, OP?
Majority knows that uTorrent is the best client.

For Windows.
µTorrent can run through wine, but you can't load torrents locally in the WebUI
Ktorrent works just fine, but the WebUI lacks features.
Since OP is looking for something that's CLI, I don't think that uTorrent is what he's looking for.

oh sorry. I actually came here from the main page and didn't notice it was a Linux subforum :silent:
I've used uTorrent in Wine before, and it runs fine, but I prefer the pre-installed Transmission.

currently rating you bad reading

utorrent is crap.
I used to use the bloatware known as Vuze but I switched to Deluge. Much better, cross platform too.
(Though if you're using Ubuntu, add the Deluge Repository, as the version in the Ubuntu repository is an older version.)
Deluge is terrible.
Deluge is terrible.
And your reasoning is..?
I may have just compiled it all wonky, but the interface felt slow to me.
Just use the binary, it's fast and stable.
I just received an email when I was sleeping, they're hard at work on uTorrent for Linux and they should have a client out "soon".

WOOHOO! I love uTorrent for Windows, so a Linux native should run beautifully. ^_^

In windows I use utorrent though.
And I've never used a cli torrent client.

Transmission comes pre-installed in Linux Mint.
Transmission is awesome.

I've never had this problem with Deluge.
Deluge keeps hogging 100% of my CPU - it'd be a nice client otherwise. Doesn't seem to be a distro-specific issue either, as I had the same problem in Arch and Fedora.

Comes preinstalled with ubuntu too.
I like it, it's nice and simple and I can do what I need with it.
Same here. ^
