It's like comparing rotten oranges (Overwatch) to cow pie (Hearthstone).
Why even talk about this, both games have shitty balance.
It's true that HS is a lot less gradual in terms of what can be changed. It's also true that the balance is a complete fucking joke even with that in mind
Team 5 deserved the benefit of the doubt in Naxx and GvG. But after Blackrock, Grand Tournament, League of Explorers, Old Gods, Karazhan, Gadgetzan and Un'goro, there's no question that they're just terrible at balancing
No archetype in Hearthstone better illustrates their ineptitude than taunt Warrior. How many people remember this card?

Nobody played taunt Warrior when this card was printed. There is very little about the class that indicates any sort of taunt theme. And worst of all, this doesn't even fit what anyone sensible would imagine taunt Warrior to be! Who the fuck would think to mash together the slowest minion type in the game, and a board-wide buff? Needless to say, taunt Warrior saw no play.
And then they added a great taunt minion in League. Taunt Warrior still saw no play.
And then they added another great taunt minion in Old Gods. Taunt Warrior still saw no play.
And then they added unleash the hounds (but with taunt) in Karazhan. Taunt Warrior still saw no play.
And then they added a +3/+3 handbuff for taunts, yet another great taunt minion, and a spell that lets you discover taunt minions in Gadgetzan. Taunt Warrior still saw no play.
[Note: by this point, the word "taunt" no longer makes any sense to me]
It took Stonehill Defender, Primordial Drake (two of the best minions in the game), plus a quest that literally gives you a 2 mana Ragnaros effect (and a discounted Truesilver to boot), over the course of 2 fucking years and 9 expansions/adventures, to prop up taunt Warrior as an archetype. The final nail in the coffin? The fact that the Warrior minions they printed specifically for it... are still barely played in the deck
Hearthstone's balance is so awful it's insane. Although the largest problem for the game is the cost; it's the most expensive online card game by far and makes even me, an ex-MTG player, cringe back.
Honestly, Team 5 has no clue what they're doing and the issue is compounded by the fact that they have so few employees. I guess they gotta' keep their large paycheck!
