I have an idea for a sleeve tattoo I would like to have done, however, I lack the talent to be able to put my ideas down on to paper to get a good feel for what I want on my arm. At the moment I have one tattoo on the arm, which is this. The general idea I have is that the lower portion of my arm is in the style of biomechanical such as above, the further up my arm you go the more natural it becomes, so for example (mecanical pipes>roots of a tree) It's quite hard to explain, take Portal 2 for another example, very concrete and metallic and it's fighting with nature. I'd like the blend point of these two themes to be at the halfway point of my arm, so the elbow area. In my tatto above, you can see small pipes in the most furthest back region, I really like the idea of these pipes coming back through my skin somewhere else near the elbow area of my arm and blend into something such as roots/branches. None of my friends are artistic enough to do this, I'm not expecting a full blown piece of art in colour and everything, but a detailed drawing would be great! I know Facepunch contains some very talented people so I was hoping you guys could help me out here. I'm aiming to get this done at Christmas, and since sleeve tattoo's are pretty big I thought I would try making a start now. Thanks guys, hoping I can get some help, and I understand if this task is too large.
That's a really cool tat.. you have nice arms
That's a really cool tat.. you have nice arms
Thanks! Hopefully with some help I can get my whole arm as a cool tat.
I love the idea, unfortunately I am no good with this type of tattoos. I recommend you either get a paid commission done by someone who knows what they're doing, or you go to war in photoshop and let the tattoo parlor draw it up from the reference images you've stuck together.
I was hoping I could go to the parlor with something I already like, this saves a lot of time, and I'd need to keep going back to the parlor to see if I like the changes he made which would cost a bomb in fuel. I also can't use Photoshop. :(
Definitely can't get any help with this then?
http://alizel.deviantart.com/ I looked around for you and found this artist. She did an amazing full-back tattoo design and I figured she would be the right to ask for a commission. You have to pay, but I am pretty sure she has what it takes to make something you want. It'll definitely be cheaper than paying for gas to go back and fourth to the tattoo parlor and her skills plus your money is a guarantee it'll be much better than what you can get from this forum.
Thanks Kagrs, I'll check it out.
