• Considering a GTX 275 SLI

(Disregard the high idle temperature - I have modded the BIOS so the fan is pretty much stopped under idle load and the temp stays < 80C under full load) I pretty much exclusively play Source games (especially L4D2, TF2 and AS), so the main reason behind the upgrade is for Final Fantasy 14 and the occasional single player FPS. So, keeping in mind: - I will have to use modded drivers due to my 890GX chipset - I hate input lag with a passion - I have an adequate power supply (Corsair HX 750) - I'll be buying from eBay, hopefully for less than £120. - According to some reviews I've seen, 2x GTX 275 > GTX 295, which isn't far off a GTX 480 - I don't really care about DirectX 11 Should I go ahead and buy another GTX 275 or wait for the ATI 6000/7000 series?
Wait. :3:
dont do it faggot
Wait. Also why is your RAM so fucking slow?

Just sell your GTX 275 and buy a GTX 460, it overclocks like crazy and has DX11, and trust me DX11 is very important.

None of the games I play use DX11, and a GTX 275 is quite a bit cheaper than a GTX 460 and it would give me performance around the GTX 480 level.
you're not getting GTX 480 performance from GTX 275 SLI, sorry
Should be pretty close though surely? Considering a GTX 275 SLI beats a GTX 295 and a GTX 295 isn't far off a 480
GTX 295 > GTX 480
Not even possible.
Why even buy a DX10 card, and above of that you won't get performance near GTX 480 on any new games.
I don't play enough DX11 games to justify buying a DX11 card now - the second 275 is just to keep me going until the 7000 series.

Pretty much every game coming out in the future is going to have dx11.
which all support DX10
At a much lesser scale, less fps etc. In dx11 games, 1x gtx 460> will outpass gtx 275 in sli dx10.
Gaw;23674492']At a much lesser scale, less fps etc. In dx11 games, 1x gtx 460> will outpass gtx 275 in sli dx10.
uh no what are you talking about
So yeah, assuming I can get the GTX 275 at a decent price (< £100), should I go for it? I won't be getting DX11 until sometime next year anyway, and I want FF14 to look its best. I can't remember the exact score, but I scraped an average in the benchmark. Plus if the SLI doesn't work out due to my chipset, it will make a pretty nice upgrade to my brother's 8800GTS, or I could just sell it on.
