SSB4 3DS will have Miiverse support.....Only on New 3DS
Well, we now know of at least one exclusive feature Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will have on the New Nintendo 3DS. As it stands today, Miiverse cannot be used (or the internet browser) while playing the game on a regular 3DS (or XL). That means you cannot share screenshots on Miiverse or post to Miiverse while playing. In fact, out of the gate you will only be able to share screenshots by saving them to your SD card and then transferring them to a local PC. The New Nintendo 3DS is a totally different story.
Yeah, fuck you Nintendo. I just bought a 3DS XL a few months ago.
Fuck off
Just make a brand new DS instead of fucking over consumers with this new model.

This new model? From this, it's acting like it's a new handheld entirely, rename the damn thing, don't give it a 3DS name, give it some new DS name.
I thought I will be fine with an XL that I got last year, but looks like I am having to upgrade anyway, if they continue with this, everyone will have to.
There's no way this can be right. Surely the connection to Miiverse wouldn't break the boundaries of the system.
I hope this new 3DS will fail hard, Nintendo has no right to succeed this time, they're fucking over every single person who bought a 2DS/3DS/XL, while happily still doing region locking.
Wow, it's really called "New Nintendo 3DS"? That's incredibly lazy.
I heard that Smash 3DS pushes the extreme boundaries of the handheld and has to use all of it's processing power towards the game to run it, but I'm pretty certain they could have found a workaround to include miiverse
Watch 3ds get 15fps while new 3ds gets a perfect 30.
I'm probably not even going to buy smash at this point, gonna buy that pokemon remake instead.
Smash 3DS runs with 60 FPS on every system. The Smash Demo is fucking amazing. Can't wait for the full version.
I don't know, but it has been 3 years since the 3DS came out, so I don't actually mind a new 3DS and I just think of it as a new console that is backward compatible.
I just hope that there is a possibility to trade in the current system to get a discount on the new XL one.
The biggest problem imo is that they should announce it sooner rather than suddenly.
If that's true, that'll be really impressive. I may buy it just to support the popularization of a 60FPS standard :v:
I'll take 60fps over miiverse.
It's true, a solid 60fps even with 3D on max. It takes up everything the system can offer, the OS actually needs to reboot after you close the application just to sort itself out.

Probably would take up too much resources
The 3DS system applications aren't that great
I'm guessing Smash really took the system to the limits

Same here, but can they at least call it something else? When they were on Treehouse last night they introduced some New 3DS Bundles, everyone in the stream (including me) thought it was the New Nintendo 3DS, but it was just the Normal Nintendo 3DS with new skins.
Hopefully it's called the 3DSi or something in the west. DS models have had different names by region in the past, but Nintendo have gone full retard with names for the last few years.

Even in the demo the OS has to reboot when you quit it so I'm fairly certain that the game is pushing it to its limits.
Nintendo's naming scheme lately has been full retard.

I am more a bit peeved that Nintendo promised that the 3DS version wouldn't hold back the WiiU version, but if Nintendo isn't rusing us with saying that the 3DS roster is the exact same as the WiiU roster, we have a few characters that have been cut purely because the 3DS couldn't handle it (Biggest disappointment being the Ice Climbers being cut.)

I think it is more innovative than just going 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9...

Look how well Microsoft is doing with that.
Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One.
Nintendo 3DSi and 3DSi XL really would be the perfect names for these systems. I'd really like to know who thought "New" was a great idea for the name. It's just so damn corny.
I think it is more innovative than just going 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9...
Innovation isn't always progress. It's easy to tell the difference between the different Playstations but when this new 3DS comes out it will be hell in a handbasket trying to figure out who has what.
Getting innovative with names is bad, just look at the Wii U and Xbox One, both names are atrocious!
i've always liked playstation's naming convention
which is literally just
playstation 1
playstation 2
playstation 3
playstation 4
you dont have to get all creative and shit when it comes to consoles
like even their portable was just called "playstation portable"
maybe the stupid name is why the vita is selling so bad :v:
problem with new model, nobody will want to make games exclusively and fully utilizing the powers of the new model because making games for the old model will be playable on both old and new model, you're walling of a lot of customers otherwise.
Miiverse already runs terribly on the 3DS, this sort of makes sense. I have been able to post like 3 things successfully ever from my 3DS
People didn't get mad like this when hey made the Gameboy color. This is more like the GBC than it is the DSi

It is just hip to get mad at everything these days.
someone may have already stated it but smash 4 on all of the current 3ds models ends up taking a ton of system resources and you cant use the internet browser or miiverse while playing the game
the game does in fact require a reboot of the os when you close out of it
i cant tell if people are genuinely outraged over the loss of miiverse, though. it's not really a big deal?
i mean, if you want to take screenshots, the game has it's own screenshot feature. you can just upload everything later, really.

it's literally fucked me over on buying things. I had only 45 bucks while the sale was going on the eShop, and i was going to buy Super Mario 3D World. I went through the entire puchasing process and I actually ended up buying New Super Mario Bros U cause the names were so similar and long (so i didn't see the whole thing while buying).
