Deutsche Bank says boss sent 'suspicious item' in post German police are investigating a suspicious item addressed to Deutsche Bank chief executive, Josef Ackermann, at the bank's Frankfurt headquarters. "There was a piece of mail that arrived at Deutsche Bank that was noticed," said a German police spokesperson. US officials were reported as saying the package contained explosives and shrapnel. Deutsche Bank has confirmed receiving a suspicious item and passing it on to police. "We confirm that a suspicious envelope has been sent to Deutsche Bank," said a bank spokesperson. The New York Police Department has increased security around Deutsche Bank's US offices in New York.
http://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/unternehmen/0,1518,802462,00.html
Wait a second. The US is reporting what's in it, but the German police are investigating?
Wait a second. The US is reporting what's in it, but the German police are investigating?
German international bank, so the German police may have authority over the matter.
My best guess:
I suppose, though it addressed to the CEO in Frankfurt. Maybe they used them that so the NYPD would increase security, and then US officials leaked that.

Row row fight da powah! :v:
My bank account is a Deutsche Bank account. :v: What I always wonder in mail bomb or anthrax attack cases such as this: How do the people behind the attacks make sure the person they want to kill/injure opens the letter or is near enough to be killed/injured to the person that does? I seriously doubt Josef Ackermann opens letters he gets personally. (And if someone else is hired to open the letters for him, I doubt Ackermann is in the vicinity of that person a lot.)
-snip, too rude-
