• Using a phone as a Mic/speaker

So i found this really cool old phone that we had lying around and i thought about how cool it would be to use as a Mic and speaker for skype. I was thinking that i program could turn a modem into a line in and out. is it even possible? and if its not could you wire it up to use regular headphone jack? also i may be crazy for even wanting to do this.
I think I did this with some custom software through Bluetooth on a Nokia phone ages ago, but to be honest, no idea how I did it back then or if you could even apply any of that process to work with whatever you have that you didn't post which would have been a really good idea.
Images of your old phone, please.

I doubt there is some program that can do it [editline]20th November 2010[/editline]
Images of your old phone, please.
Rotary baby! Who cut this shit off! Also some bad ass stick nails!
So, nothing?
cut out a 3.5mm cable, put it onto one of those cables and see if it works, if not, try another :downs: You need to try it.
radioshack might have an adaptor of some kind, if not, then you'll have to make your own by soldering the wires together, no guarantee that will work either though.
I guess i'm thinking of like what magic jack does.
Open up the base unit and tap wires directly from the handset, this is because there's electronics for the ringer and dialler if you tap the wire BEFORE the base unit. This simplifies the whole thing, as there are (usually) 4 wires for the handset, 2 for the speaker, 2 for the microphone. Simple.
do what the above poster did, but instad of cutting the handset cable - you open the the dialer and de-solder the connections there and run them from the actual base - it'll look more awesome that way

Also I doubt it but is there any way to make the bell ring?
Good luck with this
