My uncle has just given me a 4GB pen drive to load up with 'old people music' apparently something like Robbie Williams and Take That. Being of the younger generation I have no idea what to put on it. Surely there are some 40 odd year old people on Facepunch. What should I put on it?
old people music?
if you mean classics........go for beatles and the motown period
if you meant old people who like modern music, I would go with dance music......dunno it makes them go crazy

Yeah, classics. He's about 40 I think and when you hit 40 I guess you deem yourself 'old'.
He wants Megadeth.
Yeah, classics. He's about 40 I think and when you hit 40 I guess you deem yourself 'old'.
load it with beatles (abbey road, rubber soul, sgt peppers)
load it with motown 50 album (3 discs of pure classic genius)
pink floyd, rolling stones, queen, eagles, the doors
if you want to go back EVEN further, try some jazz.......John Coltrane, Louis Armstrong and some other greats
James Brown, they'll like......(Star Time compilation)
that should keep them occupied and pleased..........
Put on the Velvet Underground.
Jimmy Buffett

Lou Reed was in the Velvet Underground.
Inkspots.
Hes 40 I wouldn't really consider his music "classic"
best of the 80s hair metal
UB40, U2, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, The Beatles.
Those are the first bands that come to mind for me.
Lou Reed was in the Velvet Underground.
That's why I said, yeah this.
The fact that he mentioned Robbie Williams and Take That makes me think he doesn't mean old music, but more pop music of the past ten to twenty years that older people generally get along with.
That's why I said, yeah this.
John Cale was in the Velvet Underground as well.
You know they invented guitars in rock songs?
40 years old? Queen, Sweet, Cheap Trick, Status Quo, The Beatles.

I'm 26 and listen to all of those. Hardly old people music.
Don't listen to any of those people.
Chuck Berry and Johnny Cash.

Agreed. Johnny Cash is the only country artist I will listen too.
OP, throw some Emerson, Lake, and Palmer on there. Also, load up some Cat Stevens.
