I really hope that for us PC players that we get more than a stupid wheel with only 4 abilities mapped to it. I would prefer my toolbar stretching across the bottom of my screen to allow space for as many as I have, cutting out completely the interruptions to go in and swap them in and out non stop
I heard the PC UI was supposed to be entirely it's own thing, but we'll see.

The way I remember it, DA 2 had a toolbar. It actually annoyed me because it didn't switch to a console interface if I plugged a controller in (in fact it had no controller support at all despite the interface for it already existing).

I really liked DA2's interface and UI. It was really minimalist and clean, but still retained all the information that was easy to see or get to without a hassle. I'd be happy with the same one brought back to be honest.
I'm all for having controller support, too, as I know people prefer them for some things and not others, just not at the expense of Keyboard/Mouse functionality (Like Mass Effect 3. Even with a Keyboard and Mouse you still had to use a wheel). I hope what Firo says is true and it works both ways

Wait, so ME3 had a wheel for Keyboard and Mouse users? I've been playing it quite a bit recently, and I haven't noticed any wheel. There's a toolbar and the same old ability menu on the tactics HUD.
I know all the bioware shortcomings and shitty writing has turned people off but I just can't help being excited for this game. It looks great.
The graphics look so....bloomy...and fuzzy
when will they understand that the tactical camera is fucking boring and dumb, nobody likes it

If you ever played the harder difficulties, you'd see how important it is.
I am waiting eagerly waiting for this game to come out [sp]to see how much it will fail[/sp]
I read that as "Combat Printer"
"Quick! There's a horde of skeletons approaching! Unleash double sided comic sans letters from mom!"

I think he meant that the combat shouldn't rely it. I found it tedious and ruined the flow of the game, just seemed like the user was making up for bad AI with custom commands. There's much better alternatives than this tactical camera. Maybe predefined AI attack/defense behaviors to pick from.
It just seems like a bad idea that doesn't play well. I didn't enjoy using it.

Well, not so much a wheel, but you have to pause combat and swap abilities for your squadmates the same way. IIRC you have one ability mapped to use as a hotkey, but you have to stop everything if you want to change it. For yourself you do have the numbered toolbars to use, thank fuck
