was confused there for a very small amount of time
I have seen it now. It was amazingly well made. A great insight of the lives of the Dota 2 players. It not only shows some of their private life and decisions they make, as well as what kind of impact gaming had for them, but also shows what their families think of them and their passion for games. Some are happy for them, others want them to focus on more important things in life, and so on. It's very interesting and well shown how enthusiastic they are, when they arrive at the tournament in Cologne, their emotions and how they deal with loss. The matches are not only shown as normal replays but also blend in to SFM scenes where certain scenes got recreated in Valve's animation program and delivers an even better experience. I can recommend this documentary for anyone who is interested in Dota 2 and who is interested how the players live and deal with certain situations. Some points of the movie: - Valve doesn't appear in any way. Only Dota 2 and its competitive players. - There are no tips or insights in the strategies of the teams (Not such a huge loss for me) - It's a documentary mainly about the 2011 tournament. Latest tournaments like International 2 and 3 only appear for brief moments. - It doesn't cover up every team. The main teams are NAVI, Ehome, Scythe, Online Kingdom.
Pretty good movie.
Leave it to valve to add cosmetic items to a MOVIE
Leave it to valve to add cosmetic items to a MOVIE
A: They are optional. B: Like they don´t make fucking toys of movie licenses, don´t they?

It also makes me wish they did Dota 2 SFM shorts like that, although thankfully we have guys like Swordzzzzz to make that kinda stuff. Just finished watched it, actually pretty decent movie though most of the scenes I've already scene scattered around Youtube and from news/videos from 2011 tournament.
Leave it to valve to add cosmetic items to a MOVIE
...what's the big difference between videogame-themed promo items and movie-about-videogame-themed promo items? It's not like they're cosmetics for your DVD menu.
