Anyone else notice this?
Google is 1 of the most popular internet services on the web including YouTube which they own and yet none of their products (YouTube for example) use Google's Recaptcha software when ReCaptcha has more of a purpose then to stop spam, but to digitize books.
ReCaptcha is everywhere.
Your point?
A++ Thread, would read again.

He's saying how Google owns reCAPTCHA yet they don't even use it on their own websites.
they use one of those basic 1 word captchas witch you cant even read.
So Google doesn't use their own captcha. Do you think Garry actually plays his own mod?

Is the sky blue?
Im trying to bring out the face that google wants to digitlize their books with ReCaptcha and what is the best way to do that then using 2 of the most popular sites.
Youtube for failed login attempts and comment spam
Gmail for attatched files to emails and such.
Doesn't matter, they don't need captcha to spy on you and make money.

Google is for keeping shit simple. Thats why.
Is the sky blue?
Not really.
So the hell what, why make a thread about it?
They can have more than one system of captcha.
What makes you think Google didnt develop the captcha they are using on YouTube and Google? they can have more than 1 captcha system you know
I fucking hate reCaptcha.
People are already pissing mad about Youtube without reCaptchas like this:

I don't think you realise how much effort it takes to update Google's software.
It's not worth rolling out an update just to chance the capatcha to over 1000 servers, just because they want to.
Maybe when do they do a big update to their services.
reCAPTCHA is crap, really, mayby that's why.
You can replace the scanned word with anything, so that's what I've basically been doing everytime I see reCAPTCHA.
Watch, recaptcha will change the words to things like "chevy" or other stuff to advertise further.

The way reCAPTCHA works is that it gives you two words:
One word is scanned from a book that needs to be digitized.
The other word is a random word altered to look like it was scanned from a book.
You enter both words, and it only checks the correct word with what other users have inputted for that word.
Basically you can enter one right word and totally BS the other one, and you can still possibly be accepted.
Try it, you'll eventually get "Correct". Enter one of the words correctly and put "chicken" or something for the other word: http://www.google.com/recaptcha/learnmore
dude have you heard the audio captcha when you try to sign up for gmail? fucking scariest shit ever.
youtube uses recaptcha, if you make a few comment posts quickly, it will start to ask you to verify yourself using it.
At least its not audio captcha :ohdear:
