Instead, the producer is taking on a new artist name: Chill Harris.

"By it’s definition a name is just a word or set of words by which a person, animal, place, or thing is known, addressed, or referred to. When I chose my name as an artist at the age of 16, it was after reading "Romeo and Juliet.” Paris was the name of Juliet's rich and entitled suitor. I meant it as satire against a side of life that that tries to hold creativity and love down. From the beginning, it has always stood for sharing and focusing on the good and positive things in life, instead of magnifying and supporting the negatives in life.
Pretty good decision on his part, but jeez, what are the odds?
I'd choose a different second name because of Calvin Harris, and probably a different first name because it doesn't really do anything with the second. That's just semantics, though - I think it's cool that he's changing his name.
This dude has some serious chill.
Man, what a chill thing to do. I might check out some of his songs, he seems like a cool dude. I mean I probably won't like them because I don't like EDM but still
I'm aware of that
that is probably the slickest name change i've ever heard
He should leave EDM and immerse himself into the dirty south so he can go by Trill Terrace
Good to hear, he makes glitch hop that also uses things like acoustic basses and classic disco samples. Its a pretty unique sound, especially since a lot of his vocal song samples are about love and other staples of the disco genre. Makes a lot of different-sounding stuff too. I'd give him a listen, The Walk is one of my favorites. I'm pretty sure he's on Skrillex's label too, so he'll have no problem keeping his momentum going and making sure his renaming process goes smoothly
Classy, I'm usually one for not being 'overly politically correct' but there would be so much stigma with a name like that after something like this happened that it's definitely for the best.
Chill Paris woulda been better
Love this dude's stuff, good on him.
Kill Paris is a good producer. Or I guess I should say Chill Harris now. In any case, thread music:
When I chose my name as an artist at the age of 16, it was after reading "Romeo and Juliet.”
What's in a name?
