• Make me a build under $700

Budget: at the most, $700. The cheaper, the better. Country: US Apps n' games n' shit: Music, Source games and Unreal games. What I can reuse: Hard drive Extras: key board, speakers, and web cam (possibly). I already have a mouse and (shitty) monitor. Now Facepunch, BUILD! [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] Also, I've never built a computer before. Tuts needed?
Do you need an OS? Also what is the monitor's resolution?
also tell us whether your HDD is IDE or SATA also www.pcityourself.com
Don't need an OS, and I have no idea what the res on my monitor is. As for the hard drive, I have no idea what type it is. It's off a laptop (using brackets to be able to mount it in a desktop) if that helps. Wow I'm fucking useless.
If it's a laptop HDD, it's probably 5400rpm, so just get a new HDD - your budget is plenty anyway
But then I'd have to get a new OS, re-download games, re-install virus software, lose a buch of data... etc.
you don't have it on a disk?
Wait. HURRRRR. I forgot that I could just copy it over to a new drive. [editline]27th February 2011[/editline] dem ninjas
Well. Times like now make me wish i could bump. Automerge: Plays in my favor for once.
Here is something for $662 grand total with EMCKGKJ83 Links: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106335 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136760 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157176 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231253 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103921 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.590983 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.613616 [editline]wefe[/editline] I feel like you can do better though. You should see what other people post.
Thanks mate. I think I'll stick with my current hard drive though, so I'll ditch the OS and hard drive. Chances are I'll upgrade later, but every little bit off now helps. [editline]1st March 2011[/editline] Assuming no one posts better of coarse.
Not too sure about that ASrock motherboard. Might consider swinging for a better board.
nothing wrong with asrock, especially for lower budgets
nothing wrong with asrock, especially for lower budgets
For a $700 budget that doesn't need an OS, nor a HDD, I'd say there are better choices. This board below would give him a bunch of extra features like Crossfire compatibility and USB 3.0. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131668
if you're going to spend more on the motherboard this one is a better option http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157198&cm_re=asrock_870-_-13-157-198-_-Product
I'm liking the builds you guys are coming up with.
