The discovery was made at the 4-North offshore block near Qatar's massive North Field by a consortium which includes Germany's Wintershall and Japan's Mitsui, Qatari energy minister Mohammed al-Sada told a news conference in Doha. Qatar's North Field is the world's largest non-associated gas field, containing nearly 900 tcf, and the new find represents just 0.28 percent of the country's proven reserves. "Though this amount is relatively small in comparison to the North Field, it signifies our commitment to continuing our exploration activities. We currently have six active exploration blocks, and we are intensifying our exploration efforts," Sada said. Russia holds the biggest gas reserves, followed by Iran, according to data compiled by BP Plc.
Gas will never run out!
Qatar becomes even richer
I suppose this is good in the short term because it makes natural gas vehicles that much more viable. Bad in the long run because it means we'll still be hooked on foreign fuel.
It's time to bring freedom to Qatar!
It's time to bring freedom to Qatar!
As far as I know Qatar bought so much American stuff it should've been contaminated with freedom all over but some kind of antidote is keeping freedom down. I think it's called "m-oney"
QATAR STRONK

this is still pretty shit for the environment but at least society can sustain itself
This is really good, on top of the fuel, there's valuable helium in the gas.
"Mr. President, we have found WMDs. Those clever terrorists have hidden them in Qatar."
