So send it back to Greenlight, reset the votes to zero. If it's voted up again, let it sell. I know $10 isn't a lot, but it's still pretty deceitful.
$10 to cash in on the slender craze?
that means it is now at least 15 dollars more than im willing to pay for it
I completely forgot about this games existence for a good reason
I think Slenderman has basically been done too much to still be scary. I mean, I can go back to basically the entirety of Marble Hornets, and it doesn't do anything for me now.

Do people even give a shit about Slenderman anymore? He came back as a fad a little while ago, that we all know, but I haven't heard anything about it since.
I thought Slender died after The Arrival killed all hopes for a good Slenderman game.
The kids at my high school still think that "Slender" is the scariest monster ever. Occasionally I hear talk about "that Slender may-may" in the hallway. I mean, I watched Marble Hornets and thought it was freaky years ago, but now Slenderman is just a joke.
I thought Slender died after The Arrival killed all hopes for a good Slenderman game.
Games are completely the wrong medium for it anyway given that the main aspects of the character are that it lingers mysteriously in the background (photography) and that it fucks with electrical equipment (video).
Slenderman was meh. Then he became a fucking fad and people wouldn't shut up about it like it was new or something. Now nobody with any sense really gives half a shit unless they're in middle-school or below.
Damn. I know Adam personally. We've been friends for a couple years. Wasn't aware he'd taken over as project lead. While it is pretty shifty, I see why he did it. He and his team have sunk countless hours into it, and it really shows. /end of obligatory plug for Adam

They cant just rack up votes under the promise of free-to-play then suddenly change the rules like that, Its like waiting in line for a carnival ride and when its finally their turn they take off stilts and become a foot under the minimum height requirement. They better grow a foot taller and go to the back of the line.
So they bought a license for the source engine to make another samey Slenderdude game?
So they bought a license for the source engine to make another samey Slenderdude game? You do realize Black Mesa did the same thing?
What about it? Black Mesa had more time and effort put into it then a former mod based on creepypasta. Black mesa also never accepted donations. EDIT: I realise theres a promised free version of Faceless but we cant be so sure that will even come to light, And if it does it might be a hollow unsupported release.
You do realize Black Mesa did the same thing?
There will be both, a free version and a paid version of Black Mesa. There is already the free version and the paid one is there to actually donate it to the devs. You don't have to do it, as the there will still be a free version of it.
Slenderman would be better if the game had a story completely unrelated to slender and having him actually pop up places and work his magic, not advertise that the game is a slenderman game.

So not really a donation, more like freemium.
Do people even give a shit about Slenderman anymore? He came back as a fad a little while ago, that we all know, but I haven't heard anything about it since.
Marble Hornets, Dark Harvest and few other video stories are still going. He's definitly lost his sting, and that's because he's not weird anymore. The entire premise and delivery was weird when he first showed up but now that we've been acclimatized to it, it no longer has that punch. Just like Lovecraft, Lovecraft can be weird, he can be scary, he can creep you out but I bet you he won't do much for the average internet user because everything he has done has been basically become the trope of Weird Fiction.
Marble Hornets will be five years old this June. Wow.
