Greetings, fellow facepunchers! I've been watching a lot of mob-related films as of late, and I was wondering what some of your favorites might be. No doubt about it, my favorite one would have to Goodfellas, thus far. So come on, does anyone have any favorites? Or any good ones at all, for that matter?
I'd have to say Goodfellas too.
the untouchables.
the untouchables.
I still need to see that, actually. Nice. I was hoping I could get a few good suggestions from this thread as well.
Goodfellas
The God Father - Part 2
I loved Gomorrah
Godfather part 1 and 2 and Donnie Brasco
Casino is a fucking killer movie.
oh yeah I forgot donnie brasco that's a pretty good one too
Going with Goodfellas.
Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed, or Heat.
I liked Public Enemies
The Departed/Goodfellas
Goodfellas represent
Tie between Godfather and Goodfellas I had high expectations for Untouchables, but it turned out just okay for me. Wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, or Reservoir Dogs, three fictional films from director Tarantino, all worth a look.
Well Pulp Fiction is only partially a mobster film, and I haven't seen Jackie Brown, but I guess Reservoir dogs is an acceptable one. Still... As far as the mobster sub-genre goes, I think Goodfellas is a lot more definitive. Godfather is good too, but I liked the second one way more than the first.

Godfather II is better because it's an origin story, in my opinion. Have any of you guys seen the third one? I've been told that it ruined the entire series, which I guess is the reason why I never saw it. Any comments?
Watched Reservoir Dogs the other night, it was pretty good.
Would American Gangster be considered mobster? I liked that a lot.
Either Goodfellas or Gangs of New York.
Bugsy Malone.
Would American Gangster be considered mobster? I liked that a lot.
I would say it is.
Goodfellas Casino
I can't believe I haven't seen Casino. To Infanus :3, Bugsy Malone is pretty badass, yet I wouldn't call it one of my favorites.
I can't believe I haven't seen Casino.
You should. It's pretty much Goodfellas Pt.2, but it's still very good. Martin Scorsese always makes great movies.
The Departed. Gangs of New York (if it counts)
Goodfellas without a doubt.

It really does kill the entire series, and is what keeps me from buying a boxed set (I will go and buy 1 and 2 separately). Also, Godfather Part 2 is often rated as the greatest sequel of all time, going back and forth with The Empire Strikes Back.
