Facepunch: it DOES NOT HAVE a Wikipedia article. Did you know this? I did. And now I'm posting about

Really, it doesn't. Go check, check again ten minutes later, check as often as you like, but I assure you; as of this writing, Facepunch does not have a Wikipedia page. Typing "facepunch" into the search bar redirects you to the page on Garry's Mod, which only uses the word once, in the info box under the developer heading. Now, I'll grant you that this might not be THE most notable forum on the internet, but let's look at some of the facts I came across in my quest for answers.
FACT: Hundreds of internet forums have Wikipedia articles; for example, there are no less than 26 articles on the subject of specifically LGBT forums, and 61 articles on forum terminology.
FACT: According to Google results, Facepunch is approximately 53 times less notable than this fourchun thing I once heard about, and yet there are (literally) infinitely more articles about it than there are about Facepunch.
FACT: Facepunch has a distinctive logo, which would look great in at the header of the article.
FACT: They could totally have a screenshot of this post somewhere in there to demonstrate the quirkiness and shit that we're totally all about here.
FACT: There are more than four facts, but I feel that spending more time writing a post than it would take to actually create the article myself would be a bit inefficient, even if I am a fairly bad wikipedian myself.
So, would one of you guys get on that? Thanks.
Having Garry's Mod as a Wikipedia article is good enough.

OPINION.
FACT: Pretty much all FACTS are opinions, but calling them FACTS makes them seem more FACTUAL.
What would there be to write about it?
FACT: Pretty much all FACTS are opinions, but calling them FACTS makes them seem more FACTUAL.
What
Facts are facts, opinions are opinions.
And stop randomly making words capitalized.
No one on wikipedia would want to read about a sea of piss being pissed by nerds
so you spent time making this thread, but not a Wikipedia article on facepunch?
What

Fine, to reply to this post I'll switch to ABC list format.
A. Facts are facts and opinions are opinions, but technically speaking it's pretty damn hard to confirm that anything is actually a fact; this is the nature of science, and indeed the world.
B. That said, this thread is not about subjectivism.
C. I was not capitalizing random words, I was capitalizing the word "fact." It isn't that hard to follow.
so you spent time making this thread, but not a Wikipedia article on facepunch?
D. Read fact #5. I'm not familiar with the formatting, writing protocols, or any of the guidelines for that matter.
OP what are you waiting for? Go make one! Then return with the deserved fame and glory here to be named hero of internet (and then be forgotten about after 10 minutes).
I bolded it, to save us some trouble here.
Fact #5 explains the thread.
It did have one but it was deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Facepunch_Studios_(2nd_nomination)
"A forum that will suck you in and ruin your life or scar you for life whilst yelling at you and kicking you in a corner"
It did have one but it was deleted: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Facepunch_Studios_(2nd_nomination)
I remember there being a thread about it at the time.
I'm guessing a lot of people trolled wikipedia for it, which certainly didn't help.

I do believe this is out of date, though, Facepunch is quite well-known now.
[editline]22nd December 2011[/editline]
Do note however that the original article was about Facepunch Studios, the company, not the forum.
Considering that Garry's Mod is the only major game it's released, they didn't consider it "Mainstream" enough to have its own article.
Agreed on that point, as a game developer it isn't particularly notable, perhaps not enough for Wikipedia; as a forum it may well be.
What I suggest, rather than making a whole page for Facepunch, is to refurbish the Gmod page
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garry%27s_Mod
And put a sub-section for the Facepunch forums.
If you made it detailed and/or large enough then you may be able to justify it having its own article.
Don't fill it with random shit, though.

There's really no point to be honest, "Facepunch is a forum that's mainly about video games, oh and it's owned by garry"

Mojang got its own article for creating a sea of piss for neckbeards to piss in, why not facepunch?
is good enough

maybe because they're actually relevant to internet culture
Mojang got its own article for creating a sea of piss for neckbeards to piss in, why not facepunch?
Because Minecraft went viral, Gmod is relatively unknown.
You're going to need RS about Facepunch for it to be eligible. Only one I can think off the top of my head is: http://www.news.com.au/technology/chan-hackers-gloat-as-youtube-itunes-wikipedia-battle-independence-day-bugs/story-e6frfro0-1225888107802
However, the blame is also being spread to several internet troublemakers such as ebaumsworld and facepunch, where one user claims "everyone did this".
[editline]22nd December 2011[/editline]
and I guess the righthaven lawsuit
Because Minecraft went viral, Gmod is relatively unknown.
It's not that unknown; a google search gets you nine and a half million results. The issue is that since it's called Garry's Mod, everybody talks about Garry Newman, not Facepunch, as the creator.
So basically get as many people as possible on FP to do something batshit crazy in order to get on the news.

I said relatively unknown - Compared to Minecraft.
wow this is crazy! it's like you're trying to be funny but aren't at all. that's crazy.

Oh, well thanks for letting me know there bud, I guess I'll have to try harder next time, or else just be a little more boring when I make a semi-legitimate observation. Sorry about that bud.
In case you were wondering, that's Canadian-speak for:
Wow, you're a huge asshole! That's crazy!
ha
You say it would be inefficient to make the article yourself but it seems you haven't been on Facepunch long enough to realise it would be quicker to read learn and do yourself, instead of spending hours arguing and trying to defend your stupid idea no is really interested in.
Facepunch has been around a while as has Wikipedia, Its easy, put the 2 and 2 together and its obvious if anyone really cared someone would have done it themselves along time ago.
Shocker. I TOTALLY didn't know that.

THAT is actually an extremely good point, I stand humbled. We're done here.
