Hey lads,
I'm gonna be building a new PC soon for my IT college course (and since my C2D is becoming a bit outdated now).
Of course, I'll be looking to run the latest games at high details. I have a 4870 which I'll upgrade later. I don't need an OS.
I'm going to need a case, a CPU, a Motherboard, RAM, PSU, thermal paste.
So far, I'm looking at the following:

Intel Core i5 750 (£152)
Corsair Dominator 1600mhz 8-8-8-24 (£91) - Haven't made up my mind on this or G. Skill.
Antec 300 Three-Hundred (£44) - This seems to be the favoured gaming case on FP, after all!
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Paste (£5) - Used this in my last build, works great.
So far, the total is £394. I still need a PSU. Would anyone reccommend upgrading from the stock Intel cooler? I could buy a mounting bracket for my 2005 Zalman CU-7700.
I'd prefer Ebuyer or Scan, Aria is fine too. I don't really mind that much.
If anyone could reccommend any parts instead of those, that'd also be great.
Thanks.
Oh, by the way, I can go over the budget by about £50 depending on how well my Novint Falcon sells.
I'm actually upgrading my motherboard, ram, cpu and case when I get my salary, and it's around 347 at the moment. Here's an example:

Now I may not be as demanding on the power as you, but I don't think you need all that. There's also a similar card as the Asus I chose but as Gigabyte, just not sure if it's available at scan.
Unless you are worried about noise or if you are overclocking a custom cooler is not required, the cooling paste is also not required since it comes pre-applied on the stock cooler.
The last time I had a stock cooler was for my Pentium 4 processor back in 2005 and that thing sounded like a jet engine, so I think I'd prefer to go for a custom cooler, although I haven't made up my mind on any specific model yet.
Also still looking for a PSU. Came across this on Scan:

It's also cheaper than a regular i5 750, and I can only wonder why.
If your getting a custom cooler, get the Coolermaster V6GT, not sure if its available on scan.co.uk, but they're plenty of sites.
