• Rosie O'Donnell suffers heart attack - survives

[release] NEW YORK (AP) - Rosie O'Donnell says she suffered a heart attack last week and is "lucky to be here." The 50-year-old comedian detailed the experience on her blog Monday, saying sudden nausea, aches and other symptoms pushed her to do an online search for "women's heart attack symptoms." She took a few aspirin and went to a cardiologist the next day. She says an artery was 99% blocked and a stent was inserted. O'Donnell writes in a kind of verse on her blog. She says: "Know the symptoms ladies/ listen to the voice inside/ the one we all so easily ignore." The comedian recently hosted "The Rosie Show" on the Oprah Winfrey Network. It was canceled in March. Source: http://www.kptv.com/story/19323688/rosie-odonnell-suffers-heart-attack-gets-stent[/release] How do you kill that which is already dead?
Why doesn't facepunch like Rosie O'Donnell, again?
"comedian"
Why doesn't facepunch like Rosie O'Donnell, again?
I don't like her because some years ago she was trying to gain sympathy from people by trying to appear like a minority. "I'm a woman, I'm fat, I'm lesbian." Well, good for you.

How immature and childish, ignorant and naive. Rosie is a great person, and I hope she gets better. [editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
Why doesn't facepunch like Rosie O'Donnell, again?
cuz she fat n fat ppl r gross omg! or another reason, because they dont find her funny even though i doubt theyve seen anything she's ever done and just banwagon off what they hear here
Rosie is a great person, and I hope she gets better.
So wait, is she fat because of some illness? Or just by the usual reasons? Explain this to me.
Why doesn't facepunch like Rosie O'Donnell, again?
I don't really know much about her. Something about the way she looks combined with how she speaks makes her seem really unlikable though. It seems like she's always gritting her teeth too when she's not shouting.
So wait, is she fat because of some illness? Or just by the usual reasons? Explain this to me.
Fuck if I know, I don't think it really changes anything either way, her lifestyle is her own, not your's. Its funny that the people who generally eat terribly but have a good metabolism are the ones who make fun of fat people, even though they would be fat if it wasnt for their metabolism, they are technically alike, just fat people are unlucky.

Its essentially a vicious cycle since they do "annoying" stuff only because they don't want to feel hated by people who hate fat people. No I'm not fat before someone gives me a logical fallacy, because I know its coming.

There are certain overweight folks (no names here) that FP basically idolizes. I think it has more to do with how she makes scary-ass faces and has a tendency to speak kind of obnoxiously.

It was something along the lines like "You should feel bad for me because I'm fat and a lesbian and that makes me a minority." and a lot of reaction to that was "What? No."

She may be obnoxious, but that's really just her comedy routine, it always has been, ever since the sitcom she was in, and personally I loved that show but y'know that's just me. I'd like to tell people to do what I do when this happens, but usually I'm already pissed off by the time I actually get speaking to the one in denial that I don't think about it.

I may not really like her but because she had a heart attack I'm not going to sit here and be like "Fuck that fat cunt, she should have died." That would be awful.

It just makes her come off as generally unlikable imo.
No one even said they hated her you're just making shit up Clementine.

[editline]20th August 2012[/editline]
No one even said they hated her you're just making shit up Clementine.
You don't quite represent all of FP, but to be fair neither do I, but at least I see at least 2 posts leaning towards FP disliking Rosie, you know, the OP, the first post in the thread (not directly disliking, but alluding to the concept of FP disliking her).
This thread needs a heart attack and not survive

But some people do care what others think (for some reason), so I can see the rise in disrespect thing as a decent point. Absolutely no one has said "I wish she hadn't pulled through!" you're just trying to cook up a big debate over nothing. Stop generalizing.

She's so fat, she smothered the heart attack.
I didn't know there was gender specific heart attacks, but it's good to hear she survived. [editline]21st August 2012[/editline]
So wait, is she fat because of some illness? Or just by the usual reasons? Explain this to me.
The usual reasons.
being fat is something that's self-inflicted, and you shouldn't have a positive image about it if you are, as that will only cause you to not work out to get healthy. Obesity is a huge problem in America and if people keep acting like it's okay it will stay that way.

People need to be motivated to change, you can't guilt or insult someone into changing generally.

She was using those attributes about her to gain publicity, for doing nothing at all. When's the last time you've heard of something good Rosie O'Donnell do to actually earn her respect (if any) of where she is? But no, you just saw him say the word "fat" and you had to jump onto it to make people see you as a white knight "everyone is just perfect and grand" kind of person. It really sucks she suffered the heart attack, it really does. I don't wish that on anyone, but someone commenting on the bad things someone did in reply to a question depicting the reputation of the said person shouldn't warrant you defending them in this matter, making the guy - sorry, people - above look bad.
Why doesn't facepunch like Rosie O'Donnell, again?
can't speak for the rest of facepunch, but: http://newsbusters.org/node/8064 http://www.wnd.com/2000/05/1999/ http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/2nd_Amend/do_as_i_say.htm that's why I hate Rosie O'Donnell
