I would gladly play this in early access just to have it.
While what's been shown of the game looks awesome and i'm very much looking forward to this, it's also extremely disappointing that there's hardly any information about the game, they haven't communicated that much (For the first few years it was a short blog post and a picture or 2 every few months) and now when they do say something we get et a "It's nowhere near ready". This all seems very vague, especially how he says there are features that are "planned" which implies they haven't even started those things.
I just flat out don't think it's ever going to be released tbh

It's not a question of IF it gets released- it's a matter of what we get when it does. You can't put too much blame on them for choosing not to make huge promises or not opening the sewer-gates known as early-access as they only compound the issues every hype-train creates. These days I have much more respect for teams that can sell a product when it's feature complete and not make a quick buck off of expectations.

I liked Warband for a good while but I fell out of it after I realized it was a lot more shallow than I thought it was going in to it. Plus every time I lost my army late game building a new one was such a pain in the ass and I couldn't even tolerate the early game anymore.

Long story short, having your army wiped out isn't the end of the world anymore. Seems like they are moving towards making individual troops more expendable but having A LOT more of them.
