ExitSave - Exiting to the Main Menu will create an ExitSave. During next play session, the ExitSave will delete itself after you load it. The Existsave works in all difficulty levels including Survival.
I agree with the article. The game can make itself as difficult and involved as it wants to be within the confines of the game, but that shouldn't affect any sort of "real world" interaction with the game, like being able to quit. EDIT: Keep in mind that the game will NOT perform a save when exiting direct to the desktop. You MUST choose to go to the main menu in order to create an ExitSave.

If I want to quit right then and there but not lose any progress, please let me. Sometimes real life doesn't give you the minute it takes to find a place to save.
I just gave up and just used a quicksave mod for survival, bed saves just don't work with a game like fallout and it would create a lot of frustration when I died from a glitch or got a CTD I'm dissapointed they didn't come up with a better save system like consuming lootable tapes to save in the field.
this will be nice for survival, I gave the mode a try last time I played and had to spend 30 minutes looking for a place to sleep. Beds are not nearly as common as I thought they'd be
They should've just kept survival exactly like hardcore was in NV
They should've just kept survival exactly like hardcore was in NV
At minimum they shouldn't have fucked with the console as we all know how fucky Bethesda games can be. FO4 is actually pretty okay about bugs but I mean shit there's the traditional "fucks sake I've fallen in a hole that I can't touch the ground of and now I need to tcl out because I can't jump" and I've even become immobile and unable to continue the diamond city mayor-piper conversation because for promotional purposes they made that conversation's animations and shit super involved even though no other conversation in the game is even close to as involved as that. One of the worst feelings in the world is making a bunch of progress and losing that progress due to getting yourself into a situation you can't get out of because of the developer's fault.
that's cool but I prefer New Vegans
