Though the exact timing has not yet been confirmed, Billboard notes that there’s “a strong indication” that December 24th will go down as the dawn of Beatlemania on popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music. The deal allegedly dates back to this past January, when former Universal Music Group digital executive Rob Wells reopened discussions that had previously stalled. The papers were reportedly signed in mid-September, clearing the way for a very White Album Christmas. It’s not yet known if the deal will apply to all streaming services or only a select few, though Billboard’s sources “strongly suggest” the former. Due to different licensing agreements, The Beatles are already available on web radio services such as Pandora. But this reported deal marks the first time the massively popular band will be available for streaming on demand.
what about google music??
what about google music??
I don't see why not. I think Billboard/CoS just forgot about it. I'd switch over to Google Music or Apple Music if it wasn't for the Spotify student discount. It's such a pain to add local files to Spotify.
This makes having all their stuff on my phone absolutely redundant. Nice!
The Beatles on Spotify would result in world peace
I wish they would officially release the Beatles Christmas album, with all the fan club messages they had throughout their years as a band
Good. I play a shit ton of beatles music on guitar and to make it easy to play along I would just start an album on Youtube and let it run through as I'd play along. But some CUNT FUCK COMPANY Blocked ALL of the Beatles music in my country. And I've tried Hola and it's blocked in EVERY country If it's the same company that's putting it to streaming services I'll forgive them, but if not, eat a dick whoever you are
The Beatles on Spotify would result in world peace
Fucking finally, right? It's just hilarious in general how protective they're of albums like Sgt. Peppers, as if nobody has ever heard of it before. Their music is as iconic as music gets, it's the same as trying to censor the U.S. National Anthem or something. Just let it out to the masses already, the money has been made.
Maybe next year we can get tool on Spotify.
