Today apple revealed their newest "magic" device: this trackpad is able to replace the magic mouse for mac desktop computers and provide them with the same multi-touch use that comes with a macbook. The entire surface of this trackpad is click-able like the one on macbooks, but it's 80% larger. http://www.apple.com/magictrackpad/
Only interested if it came with some sort of pen device [editline]12:05PM[/editline] Oh, apple now sells AA batteries and chargers too
if I had an iMac/Mac Pro/Mac Mini I'd totally buy one of these, apple's trackpads are amazing
Even though the trackpad's on the Macbook Pro is pretty comfortable, I would never ever, switch my mouse for that. Unless my mouse was a magic mouse, that is. It's uncomfortable as fuck.
Might buy it, do a review and return it
So it's that touchpad that usually replaces the mouse on a laptop? Who would want this, that touchpad thing is irritating as hell.
well this is quite interesting. I'll have try one out before I judge.
The number one thing I hate about a laptop was made bigger and for desktops. Amazing innovation.
The multitouch trackpad is the best trackpad I have ever used, and I hate trackpads. I would prefer using the magic mouse, but they really have made a great trackpad.
So it's that touchpad that usually replaces the mouse on a laptop? Who would want this, that touchpad thing is irritating as hell.
you can use it in conjunction with a mouse you know [editline]09:00AM[/editline] this would actually be pretty good for living room setups
So it's that touchpad that usually replaces the mouse on a laptop? Who would want this, that touchpad thing is irritating as hell.
The Mac Touchpad is epic.
So it's that touchpad that usually replaces the mouse on a laptop? Who would want this, that touchpad thing is irritating as hell.
I would. Apple's trackpads alongside OS X's multitouch gestures are fantastic.
I've used the trackpads on MacBooks a tiny bit when I was using friends' ones, and it's both incredibly irritating to get used to not having separate buttons, and incredibly cool when you start to realise you're doing things like clicking in the middle and try to perform the scroll gesture on an ordinary trackpad. But I haven't had enough time with one to get a full judgement on it, and I don't know if they're worse for gaming. It just happens that I'm looking at getting either an HP laptop or MacBook/MBP, and both have the unified trackpad style, so.

Magic trackpad literal unboxing http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/29/apples-magic-trackpad-gets-the-ifixit-teardown-treatment-nothi/ Where's the magic located? /Joke http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/07/28/new-religion-apple-say-academics/ And in other news, Apple is a religion.
Ha fox news being retarded again
Well, some of it is actually reasonable.
I wouldn't wish a trackpad on anyone. I don't care who makes it. I hate them too much.
I prefer my mouse, thanks. I remember first using a touchpad and it was such a pain in the ass, I could imagine getting used to it but imo you have much more control with a mouse and you can be more precise, too.
I wouldn't wish a trackpad on anyone. I don't care who makes it. I hate them too much.
Have you ever used an Apple trackpad? I can tell you if you haven't the reason you hate them is because every other trackpad is practically 20 years in the past compared.
I'd probably buy some stuff from Apple if it looked better and didn't have their shitty logo plastered on everything they make.
Have you ever used an Apple trackpad? I can tell you if you haven't the reason you hate them is because every other trackpad is practically 20 years in the past compared.
Yes, I'm pretty certain most people have. It's better than most other trackpads. But it still sucks.
With all these releases.... Just make the OS somewhat open source :D
With all these releases.... Just make the OS somewhat open source :D
Are you serious?
I'd probably buy some stuff from Apple if it looked better and didn't have their shitty logo plastered on everything they make.
Every company does that. HP does it. Dell does it. EVERYONE DOES IT. They want people to know who made it. It's like saying "I'll start buying TVs once the company who made it doesn't put their logo on it. :downs:"
With all these releases.... Just make the OS somewhat open source :D
:downs: That'll work.
With all these releases.... Just make the OS somewhat open source :D
It's funny because it is
Have you ever used an Apple trackpad? I can tell you if you haven't the reason you hate them is because every other trackpad is practically 20 years in the past compared.
I reluctantly admit that the macbook trackpads are among the best I have ever used, however they're still bloody trackpads, and in any situation I would rather use a mouse than any trackpad, even the abysmal Magic Mouse. [editline]01:05AM[/editline]
I would. Apple's trackpads alongside OS X's multitouch gestures are fantastic.
It's a bloody trackpad! Multitouch gestures are pretty redundant with a mouse anyway since their functions can usually be performed just as efficiently with a run of the mill 5 button mouse, [editline]01:10AM[/editline]
With all these releases.... Just make the OS somewhat open source :D
W... what? How does that relate to ANYTHING?
Why did my post get disagrees? Everyone gotta admit that even a average mouse is way more comfortable than the best trackpads.
