Mark Shuttleworth has marked Ubuntu’s ‘Bug #1‘ as fixed,
The bug, opened back in 2004 a month before the first release of Ubuntu was made, concerned Microsoft’s dominant market position. The desired ‘fix’ for the bug was listed as ‘…the majority of the PCs for sale should include only free software.’
Everybody thank Google for the patch.
This seems somewhat pretentious of a statement to make.
But Ubuntu has non-free software in their repository.

Free as in free beer?
But ubuntu is spyware.
I don't understand how this is even a "bug".

Read the article. It's really not anything that bad. Same shit every product website ever does: send what you're searching for anonymously so people can more accurately advertise to you. The data is anonymous and you can turn the feature off.

How about fixing the abysmal battery life and including better power management options?

Well, i was going to make a joke about how their #1 bug was no one wanting to use it, but i guess they did that for me.

You can fix that by installing TLP. Why that and Preload aren't in stock Ubuntu yet is beyond me.
