BBC news presenter mistakes stack of paper for iPad

BBC News presenter Simon McCoy left viewers baffled when he introduced a feature about 'drunk tanks' by holding something slightly less technical.
The 51-year-old broadcaster had intended to pick up his trusted iPad when the cameras prepared to roll in the BBC studios - but instead grabbed a pack of photocopier paper.

go home simon you are drunk
'now back in my day, we called them writing pads'
I wonder what the crew backstage were thinking when he walked onto the set just idly carrying a stack of paper.
"This isn't my iPad"

I can see someone complaining that they are advertising a paper brand, Still the weight of the paper must have given it away, or he could have dropped it on the floor out of sight

"Should we do something"
Nah nah let him realize it
I knew instantly this would be a Daily Mail article.
They'll take any chance they can to bash the BBC.
I love the commitment, once you do something wrong you have gotta follow it through.

Also the comments on the article are for once amusing and not depressingly sad. One person even questioned why the copier paper was at his desk and not at the photocopier. These are questions we must find out the answer to.
(Apart from the "Shame on you for watching BBCTV News", something I have never heard it called)
I guess he wanted something hard in his hands :D
That is a nice iPad
Oh the irony, talking about being drunk :v:

I can't really understand that complaint, holding an iPad would be advertising the brand too.

I think they hold them in covers now to prevent that. I know that they started using covers in their F1 coverage a couple of years ago because of the blatant Apple advertising.
(I feel this is now counter-balanced by the fact the new presenter uses a tablet running android)
Maybe he is protesting how silly it looks holding an Ipad when talking about the news
Maybe he did it so that it would go viral; subsequently informing teens of the story he was reporting...

Huh, that'd actually be pretty clever
A4 effort
Why are they carrying tablets?
Why are they carrying tablets?
It's the way of the future, well, except for post apocalyptic skull hologramming
A glorious case of oops I accidentally have to follow through

Probably so they can read stuff that their talking about at a glance.
Simon McCoy and Tomas Schafenacker (Spelling? SPELLING!) have some great banter.
Seriously these two are genuinely funny, even if it does get them into trouble.
