• Looking For a Good Build ($1200 Limit)

Hey there everyone, facepunchers and computer experts alike. I've recently come into a fair sum of money, and would like to build a nice gaming PC from scratch. I want to get the best bang for my buck, or at the very least some tips and advice for what to look for in certain parts. If you'd like to help me, or suggest some parts, here are some guidelines I'd prefer to be followed. First of all, I'd like at least 8 GB of RAM. 16 would be ideal (I don't mind the ~$50 Price Jump) I don't have a specific desire for nVidia, nor ATI. I do have a nVidia card at this time, but it crashes quite often when I play Team Fortress 2. I like being able to run games at the highest graphic setting possible. The more HD space, the better. I am starting up a youtube channel, and obviously, making videos needs LOTS of space. I do not need a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. I do however, wish to buy another copy of Windows 7. Please, try to include that in the build. Any help is appreciated, thanks guys.
What version of Windows? Ultimate for an OEM is about 189. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/compare?T1=tab15 Although looking at it, it's not that big of a gap between pro and ultimate. However, if you don't need XP mode, you can just get Home Premium. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130620 Or 6950. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150549
That's not a bad build, but I feel like I could be getting slightly more power though. Still, I appreciate the effort.
You couldn't wait until the Ivy CPUs comes out, I heard they're coming quite soon.
Eh, I'm not sure. They'll probably be fairly expensive when they first come out, and I'd rather not dump all the money into a new processor.
Could find a motherboard that isn't $200 and get a 580, or 16 gb's of ram instead of 8. And I believe the Ivy bridge are going to cost almost the same as the current Sandy bridge cpus.

They're direct replacement parts as what is essentially the same MSRP as the SB ones they're replacing. They launch on April 23rd. Did you even bother to check?

I suppose I can wait for the Ivy Bridge, unless someone can suggest a different alternative.

Seems pretty solid, thanks man. Anyone else have some suggestions/tips?
Oh hey I forgot the case, just get a haf 912 or something equally as good and cheap. [editline]16th April 2012[/editline] 1200 dollars is a pretty good budget, but what all are you looking to play? You wouldn't believe how many people try to work with $1000 budgets for source games and browsing facebook

I see this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103960 Is cheaper than the typical i7. I know I was planning on waiting for the Ivy Bridge, but would the Ivy Bridge i7 be better than this?
