• Xbox 360 to PC Monitor problems

So the monitor im using is a LG W2361V Full HD 1080P 23 Inch LCD Computer Monitor, and i just tried connecting it to my xbox 360 via HDMI cable. The picture shows up, but its resolution is wrong, causing blurriness. I went to xbox settings and its saying its running it 1080p (It is crisp on my 1080p television). Anyone have any experience with this problem?
Your monitor is probably treating the HDMI signal as a TV signal, so is doing a bunch of stuff that's stupid but was historically done so they keep doing it (Like overscan, compressed RGB range, etc.) Your monitor should be able to treat the HDMI signal as a PC signal (Check your manual), or should should be able to turn off things using the settings menu. But even then, it'll be blurry, not much on the 360 runs at 1920x1080, it'll just be less blurry.
I know that, but i also know the xbox360 has up scaling which is what helps it look good on 1080p TVs. Also, i know the xbox MENU runs in 1080p even though most games dont, however its still blurry running through my hdmi.
The dashboard is 1280x720, and the popup that shows when you press the guide key is something like 640x480 (Due to limitations from when the system was designed apparently) The dashboard on the One is 1920x1080, and it shows.
Fixed it, i had to do HDMI to DVI and it workes fine, ofcourse games dont look that great but hey its playable.
That could be an alternative, although AFAIK there's no way to carry over audio as well with DVI.

I also play from HDMI to my PC monitor.

You have to use the normal A/V output to get sound with HDMI -> DVI. I just removed the plastic from a composite A/V cable so both it and the HDMI cable would fit. Works flawlessly I might add. However you have to select 1920 x 1080, not 1080p. They are two entirely different signals. I think 1080p is based off TV standards with YUV and isn't exactly sharp when dealing with non-video content. 1920 x 1080 is normal PC style RGB. You don't really want to use TV style resolutions on PC monitors if at all possible.
