• Recommend me a good, old FPS

So I'm in the mood for some mindless shooting. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good, old FPSes? They don't have to be free, but ideally they'd be available on Steam or GoG. I've played most of the major ones, though: Doom 1 & 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Serious Sam FE & SE, etc. I've been eyeing Blood 1 & 2, as well as Painkiller Black. I'd just go for Painkiller, but, eh, I think I'd like something with a more consistent theme. (I might still pick it up if it's the best option.) Any other suggestions? Oh, and mods work, too. So if there's some really good Duke level packs or something, I'd give those a try.
The "Carnivores" series. They may not be on steam, but they're absolutely addictive. You can find them on Amazon. You hunt Dinosaurs as if they were Deer. It's totally awesome! And, there's a community for modification of the files, which is quite easy.
Age of Empires II :v:

CS 1.6 Half Life
Halo CE

Albeit, you might need to see what DirectX you have. There's plenty of patches from this dude named MachF on a Carnivores forum. 1 and 2 are the best, Ice Age is okay, and Cityscape is just for the collection*. *AKA: That one's crap
quake 1 It will run on anything. Your wii, your mac, your ds, your pc, anything that's atleast good
quake 1 or half-life (so... many... mods...)
Seriously though, Unreal Tournament?
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is fun [editline]15th June 2011[/editline] As is Command and Conquer: Renegade
Marathon? http://marathon.sourceforge.net/
Hmm. I would go with C&C: Renegade. Singleplayer was so-so. Multiplayer is just worth it.
I liked the SP just because it was cool to actually be on the frontlines in a C&C game for once, instead of being some invisible force.
Condition Zero Deleted Scenes Half Life 1 Deus Ex Far Cry
Republic Commandos. Doooo eeeeet.

So it turns out I spend too much time playing FPSes, since I've played every suggestion in this thread, other than the first. :v: [editline]15th June 2011[/editline]
Hmm. Wolfenstein?
Quake 1 you can play online so I would do that.
TimeSplitters 2 and TimeSplitters: Future Perfect, they are my favourite First Person Shooters.
quake 1 It will run on anything. Your wii, your mac, your ds, your pc, anything that's atleast good
Run it with Darkplaces. Also, find mods for some of the First Person Shooter's that you have. They're always free. Or the mods could at least hold you over until you buy an FPS.
Darkplaces.
Also there was this free Megaman FPS, I forgot what it is called though.
