• Feeling like I was born decades late

My dad even says it himself. He waited until he was 42 to start having kids and he regrets not doing that earlier, cause now he might never see his grandkids grow up. My first cousins are all nearing 40. Their kids (my cousins once removed) are my age. Sometimes I imagine, what if I was born 20 years earier? I feel like I might fit in so well. I don't buy in to the current pop culture, it just doesn't appeal to me. I don't care about fashion so I always wear a regular unmarked tshirt and some jeans or maybe shorts. No brand names anywhere (but maybe someday I'll get some band shirts of bands I actually like). I listen to music mainly from the late 80s and early 90s, and am especially fond of the "Seattle Sound" (aka grunge but that's kind of a dirty word). And I have lived very close to Seattle all my life... I was just missing out on everything because I was too young to even go to preschool. I could have seen my favorite groups live while they were in their prime. I could have shared my love of that music with other people while it was still relevant. Nobody at my school seems it love it like I do. I also love playing bass and drums. I could have even been in a band, if even just a garage band playing at bars. I also feel that because I have paid so little attention to the modern "scene" and so much to the past, that I won't ever feel like I belong in this generation. I might see some school friends 15 years from now and say, "Hey remember when we were in high school" and they might say, "Oh yeah and <blah> was the biggest rapper in the world and <meh> clothes were -so- in. Those were the good ol' days." Then I would just say "Who? What?" Do you think that's plausible? Am I fucked or just over imagining? lol tl;dr I was just a baby during the "grunge movement" I wish I could have been born earlier and been there to experience/be a part of it
That sucks i guess, your just another pebble on the beach
You didn't miss out on much
You just like the music from that decade, just like millions of other kids your age. you fit in perfectly.
yea just kill yourself maybe you'll respawn in an earlier time idk
I've always felt I was born too early. Sure living now is nice, but I wanted to be born 1,000 years later when childhood involves 30secs after being born before they put 1,00 years worth of knowledge into your brain via a microchip and then we trade our bodies in for huge mechanical machines, with cannons for arms that shoot fucking laser beams.

Me too man. I just feel like I should have been born in 1792.
Woah your dad is 61? Damn that kinda sucks.

I feel like I belong with the hippies or in 1900's France with the Bohemians.
woah man you're so indie. That's so deep.
My dad was 40 when he got married. 46 or so when he had me. My cousins are all in their 30s and such, with one of my cousins having a kid who is 5 now. On my mum's side, they're mainly younger than me. [editline]09:38PM[/editline] and i like when i was born.
If you were born 1000 years later, I bet you would still want to be born 1000 years later.
Quite possibly, but 1,000 years from now I will be able to go into standby mode for another 1,000 years.
My mum was 30 when she had me, she's 46 now.
Hey, my mum is 57, don't feel lonely.
My dad is 68, and I'm 16. :sigh:
My dad is late fourty-something and my mom is like 40, you're not missing much.
The way I've always seen it is that it doesn't matter what age you were born in, where you were born, where you grew up, and the people who you grew up with, your'e always going to think "Fuck, why wasn't I born in some over circumstance?"
I've always kind of wished I was about 3 years older.
My parents are 56 (dad) and 54 (mom). I always thought I was born late, but thinking about my grandparents age made me realize that my parents we're born around the same age I was with their parents, so it's not a big deal. They also look really fucking good for being over 50.
I know I'm like this too, I'm 13 (shoot me) and my mom is 52 and my dad 59. Edit: And all my friends' parents are like in the 40s.
Wow, reading this makes me feel kinda lucky. I'm 16, my mom is 35 and my dad is 37. On topic: Yeah, I would like to live, say, in the late 80's, when the real awesome music started. But hey, that's the only reason, so I don't feel so out of decade.

The 70s is too far back and too primitive. :frogbon:
Your mum was 19 when she had you You were an acident
Lots of people are, they're usually not told. YOU could be.
You should be glad you're born at the time you're born. If you were born back then where you want to be, you wouldn't appreciate the music as much and feel that different from all the other people.
My mum was 16 when she had me. People mistake us for siblings. Sometimes more :barf:
