Never went into effect because they tied it down in court as soon as he tried overhauling immigration, but now it's gone entirely.
(Reuters) – U.S. Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly signed a memorandum on Thursday rescinding an Obama-era plan to spare some illegal immigrant parents of children who are lawful permanent residents from being deported, the department said in a statement.

Obama had hoped that overhauling the U.S. immigration system and resolving the fate of the estimated 11 million people in the country illegally would be part of his presidential legacy. However, President Donald Trump has vowed to crack down on illegal immigration. The plan unveiled by Obama intended to let roughly 4 million people – those who have lived illegally in the United States at least since 2010, have no criminal record and have children who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents – get into a program that shields them from deportation and supplies work permits.

An earlier program, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), offers some 750,000 immigrants brought to the country illegally as children the chance to attend school and to work. Trump has previously said his administration was devising a policy on how to deal with individuals covered by DACA, but no formal changes have been announced. “They shouldn’t be very worried,” Trump said of DACA recipients in a January ABC News interview. “I do have a big heart.”
http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/06/trump-rescinds-obamas-dapa-program/
"I have a big heart" says the man who condones the splitting of families apparently. I find it VERY HARD to believe republicans are actually working on something, especially with how badly they fucked up the ONE healthcare bill they've been pushing for for seven years.
“They shouldn’t be very worried,” Trump said of DACA recipients in a January ABC News interview. “I do have a big heart.”
Oh go fuck yourself with a rusty lawnmower you cunt.
it was a smart, very pragmatic program that addressed the reality of the situation and everybody on the right derided it as a handout of free citizenship. sure rescind it, but the millions of people who have lived here are still here, they'll just go back underground. the whole point was to put a cap on it and bring these people who are living the dream, out of the shadows and get them some legal status
This is the same as having an architect building a technological marvel of a building that is both beautiful and functionaly resistant and usable, and then have some schmuck show up, tear it all down and build blocks of ugly appartments that would rival actual cardboard boxes on all fronts. And I have no idea how nobody stops this shit. Soon enough the US will time travel to the dark ages for sure.
I'm starting to actually think Trump and the republicans are just undoing as much of the last 8 years as they can and that's it. And the worst part is I think it's out of spite
