I say, both have their ups and downs and both games are equally good.
Both are good in their own way, Grand Theft Auto IV is grittier, more realistic and intense while Saints Row 2 is more comedic, over the top, and fun.

Yeah this
mmmm watcha saaaay
In Saint's Row 2, you can dress up in a giant hotdog suit and tell an old woman "Don't worry, I'm not gonna kill ye'" in a British accent, then shove a katana through her mouth and brain.
On the other hand, in GTA 4 you can drive off while someone's trying to open your car door and they might get stuck to the handle, allowing you to smash them into mailboxes and other pedestrians.
I love 'em both.

This.
i personally just started playing saints row 2 (i know.. kinda late) - but my biggest problem with sr2 is the graphics.. i think it looks shit... comparing with gta4.
i think that´s why the amusement playing sr2 is not that high like in gta4 where the graphics where fantastic.
GTA, oh and I run IV on medium-high, nice fps, and SR looks like shit, yet fps was lower. A LOT lower.

i run both at highest level.. and yes.. same opinion.
well, so far I liked gta 4, for the multiplayer with my friends. sr2 is okay, but whenever I start mp My xbox freezes and I have to turn it off.
Bottem line: It depends on you liking. If you like crazy games, get sr2. If you like more realistic games, get gta4.
I haven't played Saints Row 2 but i've heared it's really good. I might get it for PC but i have GTA IV for 360 and i think it's pretty hard to beat.
Saints Row 2 lacks something, like... Realism. You can't blow up a helicopter, or a car, by shooting at the driver. GTA has realism, so...
GTA
this^
and also, gta has more realistic physics, so if you shoot someone while they are driving, they won't just stop, they will start swerving and then hit a wall.

"Saints row 2 is inferior cause the graphics aren't good."
Graphics don't make the game dude

if they´re both the same kind of game... graphics make the difference. and ofcourse can "shitty-graphic" destroy a game.

Very wrong. As I mentioned above, there are differences in the game play, so graphics won't decide which one is better.
SR2 felt bland in comparison to GTA IV (at least for me). The AI is pretty horrible, the city feels dead, the cars feel like they're from GTA III...their damage is pretty pathetic too. Granted I was still on my major GTA IV high when I actually got around to playing SR2, but I was not impressed.
IMO GTA IV is a far more enjoyable game.
GTAIV on PC is ported horribly. Gonna try SR2 asap.
Also aren't these threads against the rules?
Saints Row 2 on the PC was worst lol.
I want saints row 2 merely for putting monster truck wheels on a family sedan (Spork says it's possible so it probably is. Taking his word on this one)

Oh yeah, and I don't like hearing an eastern european accent all the time.
Well at least the latest patches fixed most of the problems, got to admit Saints Row 2 sure is fun to fuck around with.
If the latest patches fail, the fan made one was also pretty good. http://www.filefront.com/13476342/Saints-Row-2-Patch/
Saints Row is exaggerated violence and gang warfare, while GTA seems to take a much grittier look at real life.
Both are good games, though I was let down by SR2 not having Protect tha Pimp or Blinged out Ride in it's multiplayer.
GTA IV is better
I heard SR2 sucks because of the graphics and gameplay. And it does..
So GTA all the time!
GTAIV needs cop chases like SR2.
GTA hasn't had good cop chases since GTA2.
Saints Row 2 is the only one that lets me wear a tophat.
The choice is obvious.
i never played SR 2 but i have seen gameplay... i think sr 2 is pretty lame so GTA 4 wins!!! :dominic:

agree
Saints Row 2 = Gameplay
GTA4 = Realism
Otherwise I think both games are still good.
I found SR2 to be SR1, but less fun, so GTA4
