British people consider the decline in bee numbers to be the most serious environmental issue – more than climate change - and bees are the one endangered species most people would save
The continual decline in bee numbers, which in England have almost halved in the past 25 years, poses a serious threat to the countryside and food security, with a third of what we eat being reliant on bees for pollination. Many believe a main cause of the decline is pesticides, and Barack Obama has even outlined plans to create a new task force to investigate their effects on bees and other vital pollinators.
A new YouGov survey finds that the decline in bee numbers, known as “Colony Collapse Disorder”, is seen as the most serious environmental issue, and one that concerns the whole political spectrum.
Goddamn Big Bee controlling our society
Can confirm, am British, love bees.
Wasps on the other hand...
well they're pretty important for the ecosystem
Why aren't more amphibians listed on those charts? Yes, stuff like your average tree frog isn't critically endangered, but the populations of more than a few amphibian species have plummeted over the past 20-30 years.
This must be the work of Dr. Bees
What's not to love about bumble bees, they're adorable
we have the most mild tempered adorable bees so who could blame us
I guess it's good someone is concerned about it. Not sure if being more concerned than they are about climate change is a good thing, though...
Well, I like honey.
But it wouldn't be the first time British bees died off, our current bees are not even native.
personally i think bees and wasps in general are fucking terrifying.
i had nightmares about wasps as a child.
Please, don't let all the bees die off or we won't be able to make Honeycombs cereal anymore
So Doctor Bees is a brit?
I misread the title as 'Britain loves fucking bees' and went nope, that escalated quickly.
I fucking love honey so if bees all die I will be very sad, climate change probably is more important though.
Wait, Dormice are endangered?

Well, without bees, most of us won't be around to worry about climate change if they die out and no longer pollinate important plants.
Wait, why are Fracking, a nuclear power station, and wind turbines killing birds on there? Where do these pollers expect to get their energy from if not from hydrocarbons, wind, or nuclear?
NOT THE BEES
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
THEYRE IN MY EYES
Wait, why are Fracking, a nuclear power station, and wind turbines killing birds on there? Where do these pollers expect to get their energy from if not from hydrocarbons, wind, or nuclear?
Maybe they are trying to get the public's opinion on a variety of things that affect the environment?

The items are on the poll to find out if people think they're a problem, not because YouGov think they are
On the one hand, I like mead. On the other hand, the evil grey invaders must be purged.

Love watching the bees at work in my back garden.
If bees die out, we die out.
personally i think bees and wasps in general are fucking terrifying.
i had nightmares about wasps as a child.
I've never had a problem with bees. Usually they don't like to fuck with you unless you are fucking with them.
Now, WASPS on the other hand can be a bunch of pricks when they want to be. Then again, I've had a wasp nest by my front door for some time and they seem pretty chill. They'll occasionally get pissy when I walk by, but they settle down once they realize I'm not there to bother them.
NO NOT MY EYES
MY EYEESSSS
depressing that a nuclear power station was listed as an environmental issue
