That is a damn shame but it was expected.
I'd be more interested in them exploring the Clone Wars anyway.
"Star Wars Battlefront is set in the original trilogy." That's a pretty loose statement with all the weird ass shit we have as powerups, like those prequel bubble shields and thousands of jetpacks. I love playing the game and find it super fun, but Jesus christ if this isn't just a way to make 3 separate lifeless husks for money I don't know what is.
force awakens is probably reserved for Disney infinity
They'll capitalize hardcore on it when the trilogy is done

Announce "Battlefront: Clone Wars", diddle that for two years. Then they'll try and launch a TFA Battlefront alongside Episode 9. That's an amazing guarantee of work for the next 4-6 years.
Would have loved a Kylo Ren hero.

This game needs more fucking content so some TFA stuff would be pretty fucking cool
Probably gonna be in "Battlefront 2" in a year or two.
I'd be more interested in them exploring the Clone Wars anyway.
Clone Wars is for the kids. Keep it separate from the adult material please.
Probably gonna be in "Battlefront 2" in a year or two.
god just the concept of that makes me mad
I'd be more interested in them exploring the Clone Wars anyway.
that's stupid though, the clone wars has already been done to death. we already have tons of games in that era the force awakens is totally new ground. There are like 0 games released so far covering it. like what revolutionary ideas are they going to come up with for the clone wars? Because I'm really interested.
It's really quite annoying since there's so much potential for awesome Star Wars games outside Battlefront.
Honestly I'm not sure how many we'll see outside of kids' games. Almost all the SW games we've seen were based in extended universe things, or were their own thing within it. With Disney having the SW license, they're probably going to be really tight on "fresh" material for the franchise.
god just the concept of that makes me mad
Maybe DICE will have learned their lesson. I think the problem with Battlefront was a severe disconnect from management and producers and the audience of the games. DICE seems to have wanted to make a hyper-casual shooter that 8 year olds could enjoy but stuck the Battlefront name on the project in the hopes of getting hardcore fans on board. My hope this is just a big oops from DICE misunderstanding the intended audience and if they get a second go at it they will make a game more in the Battlefront spirit. That said though they are currently working on Battlefield 2016 so maybe DICE LA will get a shot at Battlefront as Visceral is also preoccupied.
I bought this and returned it within 24 hours with Origin because I saw I had already unlocked 50% of the stuff lol.

I actually really liked the show.
It's really quite annoying since there's so much potential for awesome Star Wars games outside Battlefront.
Well EA is publishing more then Battlefront [editline]26th December 2015[/editline]
I bought this and returned it within 24 hours with Origin because I saw I had already unlocked 50% of the stuff lol.
How? And why would how much you unlock matter? Progression systems have ruined these games. [editline]26th December 2015[/editline]
Honestly I'm not sure how many we'll see outside of kids' games..
Visceral Games is making some action/adventure game.
They gotta wait until all the new movies are released so they can charge us another $60.
Clone Wars is for the kids. Keep it separate from the adult material please.
Animated=/=kids only. Star Wars is great because it's ageless.
Clone Wars is for the kids. Keep it separate from the adult material please.
No it isn't.
I am really feeling like that they're throwing tons of potential just to stay "true" to the original trilogy even though they included shit like bubble shields and thermal imploders which weren't even mentioned in the OT at all.
Clone Wars is for the kids. Keep it separate from the adult material please.
The fact you are saying a war is not adult material baffles me.
How many chances are people going to give DICE until people realize that they just don't make good games anymore
They don't realize how awesome it would be to fight on Starkiller Base as Kylo Ren or Piloting an X-Wing as Poe Dameron [editline]27th December 2015[/editline]
"Star Wars Battlefront is set in the original trilogy."
And also the fact that Jakku, a planet in TFA is a dlc map
Everything else about the DLC is OT. There is nothing from TFA in it except for the planet.
Okay... am I just drinking funky egg nog or did PCGamesN just fabricate another news story? I see a tweet that says "Star Wars Battlefront is set during the original trilogy", which is true, and a headline: "Star Wars Battlefront won’t explore The Force Awakens in DLC", which they made up. Now I don't for one minute believe that anyone working for PCGamesN has a real inside scoop about this, or anything else for that matter. And since they don't appear to be claiming as much, where the hell are they getting this headline? Here's a real news flash: these people aren't real journalists. They don't know any more than the rest of us, and they don't have real leads or sources. They just take information we all have access to and "interpret" it in the most attractive (or in this case, contrived) fashion possible to get us to click. The good ones, if you can call them that, are just a little more subtle than this. I mean, you'd have to be pretty gullible to think that battlefront coming out within a month of the new movie was sheer coincidence, right? And that dlc pack coming out in a month (while ep.7 is still in theaters, by the way) with almost as much content as the original game? You know, sheer fucking coincidence. It's not rocket science, you know. But I guess that's a pretty boring take for a news story.
Yeah they're won't do Ep7 content, pushing OT too much.
Tuskin, what I'm trying to point out is that this game exists because of the new movie. This story from PCGamesN is completely fabricated, and they're barely hiding that fact. The headline is practically a lie, its a deliberate mis-interpretation of an otherwise innocuous tweet from EA's PR dept.
