• In need of a little help with Caffeine

I managed to omit Caffeine from my diet mid-March, including any contained in Chocolate or tea (had given up tea), and had thus occluded fizzy drinks from my diet too, which had ultimately left me with anything fresh, but particularly water and pure orange. Anyway, I'm wondering if it's an essential component for sustaining a healthy Brain, because one of my friends is telling me that it's required but I can't really find anything on this through a Google search. However, I'm a little skeptic of its presence as being required for sustaining a healthy life due to its absence in the animal kingdom (I mostly omitted it due to my dependency on it; I felt that by eliminating this dependency, that my Brain would seek alternative sources produced by my body (I'm not entirely sure what the natural substitute for it is, but I sometimes experience the effects which were incurred from the substance throughout the day (particularly in the morning if I haven't slept))). Any help in clarifying this is greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Caffeine isn't going to mess up your brain but it is best to stay away from it.
your friend is wrong. i am a scientist.

Caffeine affects the heart.

Caffeine is good and anyone who says otherwise is wrong :colbert:
So, would I function better if I completely omitted it from my life?
it's up to you, it's not really tremendously bad for you. in large amounts obviously it's unhealthy and can cause heart palpatations. i stopped having caffeine (switched to decaff tea and coffee) and i sleep better. that's the only real benefit for me.
Caffeine is not required by the brain. That is probably the most retarded things I have ever heard.

If I'd guess, I'd say the fact you are asking if caffeine is necessary is because your brain wants you to have it, and is coming up with excuses. Meaning you are/were addicted.
I'm sure most people in the UK are addicted to caffeine.

And it would make sense, wouldn't it?
Its not required. The natural substance that the brain produces would have to be endorphins, which make you fuck all happy and energetic. Good luck with the caffiene abstinence.

Fuck I drink tea three times a day. Am I going to die?
Caffeine has bad side-effects like any drug, but people are so accustomed too and said effects are so light, you won;'t really notice. I wouldn't say it's healthy to resume intake because you'll feel it's effects more depending on how long you've been off it. Plus if you're able to get caffeine without the sugar, it also speeds up your metabolism so if you're trying to lose weight, it won't be detrimental. You'll be able to stay up all hours if you start doing stuff that will release endorphins like working out or furiously masturbating.
There is no evidence which suggests that a human being can survive without caffeine. You're taking a huge risk by leaving it out of your diet.
How fun, I have a math test tomorrow, which I just got to know today. 300mg caffeine is going to hold me up tonight! Edit: (I actually just drank a lot of coffee.)
I'm sure you need to consume like 2 gram or something for it to be dangerous, can't see you doing that sensibly.
You can have erection problems from too much caffeine.

Does your friend work for a soda company by chance?
It's a class A drug where I'm from. I can't believe you guys are selling it in your local shops.
