i used to listen to this song 5 - 10 years ago. It goes something like... REMEMBER THE TIMES WE USED TO... It is song by a male singer, solo, and he plays a guitar (not sure if singer is actually playing the guitar) and there is no other instrument. It's kinda folky, bluesy, rockish. It definitely wasn't main stream... something from like lower manhattan - indie rock or something. Deep voice and guitar melody was humming.

it's kinda like Nick Drake but more rock and upbeat.

it's not classic rock
-snip- nevermind, that can't be it, sitting on top of the world has accompanying instruments

Uh, rather than make a new thread, I figure I'd just bump with one:
I'm looking for a song I heard the lyrics to a while ago.
It sounded indie, with just a voice and a acoustic guitar I think, and some of the lyrics were like "and we fell down down down (into)? a pit." That's all I can remember. Searching Google gives me Fallout boy and Alice in chains, so that isn't it. It sounded like something that came out recently, but maybe it's a cover? Not sure. I heard it on Pandora a few days ago, on my Florance and the Machine channel.
Please, I can't get those lyrics out of my head, and I need to know. Any help?

johnny cash - ring of fire
maybe
I thought so too, but then the beat was a little too different. Maybe it was a weird British cover or something. But I don't think so.

Is it Six Weeks-Of Monsters and Men or Imagine Dragons - Nothing Left To Say ?
I don't think Ive ever known the name of this song, but the instruments kind of go "bm bm, aaahh, bum bum, aaah, bm bm, bum bum, bm bm, aaaah", and the vocals are really, REALLY reverb'd, and at the chorus (I think) saying something like "eeeeyyy, ooooooh", in a kind of ominous-sounding tone.
FUCKING FOUND IT, JESUS CHRIST:

Random guess; here we go.

You might want to also try The Lumineers - Ho Hey
It sort of fits the "eyyy, ohhh" aspect
Sorry to bump this again, but I need some help.
This song is almost impossible to find, since it was used for a trailer for a small indie game about modular vehicles. You could customize and fight them against each other. This was about six months ago. The song itself was linked under the youtube video on soundcloud. I had a copy then, but lost it somehow. Some of the lyrics went like (in no particular order)
"When I rule the world, we'll just be getting by, "
"And I'll authorize the deep sea drills just this one time."
"And we'll probably have a coup and make you wanna do what I want you to do."
It was a pretty mellow song, just a piano, some drums, and this guy singing.
I've tried finding the original video, the song on soundcloud, just about everything. Sadly, I can't remember the name of the game, the song, and since it's so obscure searching for lyrics doesn't help me much; just redirects to the Tears for Fears classic "Everybody want to Rule the World."
The task is pretty hard, but if someone could help me, it'd be much appreciated.
