• Sony Vegas keeps setting my Microphone's sampling rake to 44.1khz

So, I've been trying to use a microphone with Sony Vegas lately and, unless I set the microphone to 48khz in the Windows settings, nothing works with it. Normally this isn't a huge issue as it works provided the microphone is set to 48khz. However, when I open Sony Vegas, it resets my microphone to 44.1khz, screwing it up again. Is there any way of keeping Vegas from doing this, or making my applications able to record in 44.1khz? The microphone is an Exclevan BM-8000, connected via XLR to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface.
Try Audacity to record instead. It's free and does a good job at recording. If you use any plugins or effects specific to Vegas, just import the audio once you finish recording it.
