• Need Help Building a Gaming PC ($1000 Budget)

Alright, so a friend asked me to build him a PC with a budget of $1000, or a little over. I have only built my first computer this past Christmas and I made some major mistakes so I want to know if I can get anything better within the budget, and if everything corresponds. Many thanks in advance. Here are the parts:
1. Get a smaller, more efficient case (I made the mistake of buying a full tower too): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119216 2. Get the i5-3570k instead of the i5-2500k: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116504 3. Change out the mobo, you don't necessarily need one that is over $200: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293 4. That psu is a bit overkill: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020 5. This is more of a personal preference, but get a 7950. It beats out a 570/660ti and is only a little more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125414 Also, what do you intend to do with your build?

You could save even more money if you are willing to loose a tad of performance and get a Bullbozer CPU.
No.
Cheaper GTX 570 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127682
You could save even more money if you are willing to loose a tad of performance and get a Bullbozer CPU.
You lose way more than a "tad".
You could save even more money if you are willing to loose a tad of performance and get a Bullbozer CPU.
Are you kidding me? Bulldozer is a car crash in slow motion. Don't even think about AMD until the third-party benchmarks for their next-gen CPUs come in, and we'll see if AMD has managed to catch up.

So OP, did your friend take what we said into consideration?
